Thanks to your contributions, we were able to provide essential food items to families who need them most. Your generosity reflects the heart of our school, and we appreciate each and every one of you for making this effort a success.
An extra special shout out to Mrs. Bray and our PVE Student Council members for all their hard work helping to organize and run this very successful event!
GROWING TOGETHER, LEARNING FOREVER
2/7/2025
Since we had a snow day, we did not get to call this group of students (pictured above) to receive their prizes and celebrate their positive examples. Congratulation to last week's Pronghorn Pride winners!
PRONGHORN PRIDE
Congratulations to this group of students who received recognition for being a great example of what it means to be a PVE Pronghorn. These students were caught modeling a school-wide expectation. Way to be #PronghornStrong!

CELEBRATING GROWTH
Congratulations to Mrs. Kalinski's 3rd Grade Class
Congratulation to Mrs. Kalinski's students for meeting their class goal. Every student knows their 2's, 5's, and 10's multiplication facts! You are on your way to having your fact fluency for multiplication mastered!!!
Congratulations to Mrs. Bray's 5th Grade Class
Congratulations to Mrs. Bray's class for exceeding their goal to have 75% of students show mastery of multiplying multi-digit multiplication problems using the standard algorithm. The class met our goal with 92% of students being successful with this so far. Outstanding work!
Congratulations to Mrs. Meinen's 2nd Grade Class
Congratulations to Mrs. Wilson's 2nd Grade Class
Congratulations to Mrs. West's 1st Grade Class
Mrs. West's class took a moment to work on some behavior goals. They worked on picking up/organizing their classroom at the end of the day for 5 days. They made their success criteria and reflected at the end of every day. The 5th day was the hardest, but they persevered!!
Thank you to our AMAZING student council members for opening the Monday, February 10th, WASD Board meeting and leading us all in the pledge.

ROARING READER
It's time to begin the Roaring Readers Reading Program! You may have noticed a pink reading chart in your child's folder. Please keep this!
Your child has a reading chart to complete to earn one free day pass for Roaring Springs Waterpark. They are encouraged to read for 600 minutes (or 800 minutes for 5th graders). Next, they must fill out the reading chart, (kindergarteners and first graders might need a little assistance with this task), and return to school no later than Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
Directions and extra copies are attached. I will also have copies in a folder on the bulletin board outside of the library and in my mailbox for teachers to disperse. Or you are welcome to use any lined paper and attach with the pink reading chart. This chart sounds like a daunting task, but we have run the numbers together and if they are already reading 20 minutes/evening, they could finish this reading chart in 6/8 weeks!
Let's make this a successful program and encourage recreational reading at home/outside of school! Students do not have to participate in this program, but it definitely is a great way to encourage reading! Thanks for your partnership! If you have any questions, please email kaler.jen@westada.org.
SAFETY
COLD WEATHER REMINDERS
Please be sure to send your child to school ready for the elements. If the temperatures are above 20 degrees, including wind chill, we are outside for recess. Unless there is a doctor's note for reasons a student cannot be outside, ALL students are expected to go out. Snow does not stop our play time, nor does a little sprinkle of rain.
Also, if you worry about your child's clothes potentially getting wet, please send them with a backup outfit, as the school does not have enough clothing for those who tend to enjoy playing in the snow.

New this year, we have an automated system for calls! Don't worry, we are still answering calls as the first option; we know talking to someone right away is important. However, after business hours our phone to immediately change to an automated system. During business hours, the automated voicemail system will pick up after 4 rings, indicating that the front office staff is either on the phone or helping someone in the office.
You will have the option of the following when the automated system answers:
Press 1 for Office
Press 2 for Attendance
Press 3 for Health Office
Press 4 for Transportation
If you are simply calling to report your child's attendance, you may call 208-350-4498.
