FULLER FAMILY NEWS
From the Principal's Desk
Fuller Families,
I hope you all had a fantastic and restful 3-day weekend! As we get back into our routines, don’t forget about our Weekend Fun Run Challenge! There's still time to participate—secure a new $60 donation, and your child will earn a special Panda Prize! Let’s keep the excitement going as we gear up for the big Fun Run Event on the 1st.
This week is extra special as Wednesday is School Custodian Day! Our custodians work hard every day to keep Fuller Elementary clean and safe. Let’s show our appreciation by celebrating them all week long.
And a big happy birthday to two incredible staff members:
- Carlos Vasquez, 2nd-grade teacher, celebrating on the 4th.
- Angie Escobar, Pre-K paraprofessional, also celebrating on the 4th.
October is also National Anti-Bullying Month! We are proud to support this cause, and we’ll be wearing orange every Wednesday to show our unity against bullying. If you'd like to join in by ordering a special anti-bullying shirt, you can order one here, or just wear ORANGE on Wednesdays!
We’re also excited to kick off our October Service Project: Socktober! We will be collecting NEW socks for those in need all month long. Which grade level will step up and donate the most? Let’s make a big difference together!
Finally, I want to remind everyone about the importance of attendance. Did you know that students who attend school regularly are 50% more likely to achieve higher grades and stay on track academically? Consistent attendance builds lifelong habits, and it’s one of the most important keys to your child's success.
Thank you for being an active part of our school community!
Remember, We are Fuller, We are Family!

Attendance
Good attendance is important for many reasons. Your child receives the maximum benefit of education by being in school every day, and numerous studies show a strong link between academic performance and consistent attendance.
A compulsory attendance notification will be sent to the parent if a student has unexcused absences on 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period or three days or parts of days during a four-week period. Notice it says “parts of days.” This means that leaving school early, or arriving excessively late in the day, even if the child attended for some of the day, may count as an absence.
In the state of Texas, Pre-K is not required, however, once you enroll your student in school, all attendance laws apply.
