Dates to Remember
- May 27: Last Day in Edgenuity for K-11
- June 5: Device Drop Off
- June 17: Virtual Summer School Begins
Congrats, OVA Seniors!
I am extremely proud of our OVA Seniors who graduated this past Wednesday. It was a beautiful evening and ceremony celebrating all of your accomplishments! Whether it was a part or full-time virtual schedule, virtual courses are not easy to tackle. It requires a lot of drive, responsibility, and organization. No one watched you complete your work in class daily. You did it all on your own and this is a skill that will take you so far. Congrats to...

Edgenuity Courses
For grades K-11, Edgenuity courses will end on Monday, May 27, at 11:59 p.m. That means you still have all day Monday to work in your courses still! I have talked to some of you about extensions, but ultimately, each of you had over 18 weeks to complete these courses, in which the courses were designed for. That being said, if you are very close to being done and want to talk about an extension, please, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Nast at anast@otsegops.org.
Remember, Edgenuity teachers will not give you a final grade for the course until you have completed at least 80% of the coursework! Finish strong! You can do this.
Attendance
Kindergarten through eleventh grade students are still required to make two, two-way contacts with your Otsego mentor or teacher through Google Classroom, email, or Google Meet. Even if you are done with all of your coursework, you must fulfill these contacts or else you will be marked absent in Infinite Campus. Thank you!
Device Return
Please plan on returning all Otsego Chromebooks and hotspots to the OVA classroom on Wednesday, June 5 in between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. If you cannot make it at that time, you MUST reach out to Mrs. Nast to arrange a different drop off option. This is very important to avoid any fees. Thanks!
In-Person OVA Support
Also, we want to give a huge shout out to the students who came in routinely for academic support and took ownership for their learning and academic success. This is another trait that will bring you so far!

Capturing Kids’ Hearts
May's Capturing Kids' Hearts character trait is Integrity. We use monthly themes to help teach social emotional skills to our students, as we know these are the most important tools in being successful in their personal and educational lives. Our student's wellbeing is of most importance to us at OVA!
What is Integrity?
Integrity is the ability and willingness to live with honesty and excellence. People who act with integrity make a choice to do the right thing, no matter who is watching. Integrity is the foundation on which we build relationships and trust.
- Integrity generates trust. When we are honest and follow through on promises, we gain the confidence of our team; Trust allows us to collaborate and achieve more together.
- Integrity encourages self-assessment. Integrity requires our regular self-assessment to align behaviors with our goals and self-beliefs.
- Integrity is essential in leadership. Great leaders decrease anxiety and build strong teams when they are honest, consistent, and responsible.
