2024-2025
A Message from Mrs. Williams
We know that when students feel supported emotionally and mentally, they are better equipped to thrive academically and socially. At GLHS, we are committed to fostering an environment that prioritizes both the academic and emotional well-being of all our students.
Here are a few ways we are supporting student well-being:
- Open Lines of Communication: Encourage your student to speak with their teachers, counselors, or any trusted adult in the building if they are feeling overwhelmed or stressed. We’re here to listen and provide support.
- Mental Health Resources: GLHS counselors are available to meet with students and provide guidance on managing stress, anxiety, and other challenges.
- Balanced Routines: Encourage your student to maintain a healthy balance between schoolwork, extracurricular activities, and downtime. A good night’s sleep, regular physical activity, and time to relax are just as important as academic effort.
Life can sometimes be stressful, especially for our students navigating school, friendships, and growing responsibilities. Let’s continue to work together to create an environment where students feel safe, supported, and empowered to succeed. If you ever have concerns about your child’s well-being, don’t hesitate to reach out to their school counselor.
Go Lions!
A Message from PTO
Our teachers and support staff stay late each year to conduct Family Conferences. That means the GLHS PTO will once again collect donations to provide dinner for our fabulous educators!
Please consider making a monetary or dinner donation for our outstanding educators who go above and beyond!
Family Conferences dinner will be on Tuesday, October 1. Click here to donate today!
Senior Immunization Requirements
This is a reminder that our Immunization Exclusion Day for 12th grade students who are not compliant with state-required vaccinations is scheduled for October 8th. 12th grade students who have not met the immunization requirements will not be permitted to return to school after October 7th unless one of the following is provided:
An updated immunization record showing all required vaccines (send records to grahams@gjps.org)
A confirmed appointment date for the administration of the missing vaccine(s).
Please ensure that your child’s immunizations are up to date to avoid disruption to their education.
Family Conferences
We will hold GLHS Family Conferences Tuesday, October 1. Conferences will take place from 4:00-7:30 pm. We will once again have the option to meet in-person or virtually.
During these conferences, families will have the opportunity to connect with teachers and counselors to learn more about your student's academic experience at GLHS.
Parents can schedule time to meet with individual teachers and staff members by using MyConferenceTime.com/glhs. When scheduling times to meet with teachers, please only reserve one (1) conference time per teacher and be mindful of the allotted time, as our staff's goal is to meet with as many families as possible each evening.
If you need assistance in signing up for MyConferenceTime, please view the following tutorial video here. If you have any questions, please contact the main office at (614) 478-5500.
We are off to a great start for the school year and thank all of our families for their support and collaboration in displaying PRIDE here at GLHS.
College Financial Aid Night
What: Join us for a general overview of how the college financial aid process works and how to apply, followed by a brief Q&A. This presentation will be provided courtesy of Faith Phillips, Director of Student Financial Services at Central Ohio Technical College, and is geared toward college-bound high school seniors and their parents/guardians. (Your student does NOT need to be enrolling at COTC to attend.)
Why Attend? Receiving financial aid is a crucial part of a student's successful enrollment in college, and we want to provide our families with the necessary tools to navigate the process effectively.
When: October 1, 2024
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Where: Gahanna Lincoln High School Auditorium
