Career Advisor Corner - Ms. McGhee
In October, 8th-grade homerooms reviewed the RIASEC (Holland’s Code) career language by matching pictures of activities to the theme (Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, or Conventional). Using their Holland’s Code (top 3 themes), students can identify potential careers and college majors that match their interests.
7th-grade homerooms finished learning about Career Clusters and answering career questions with a career Jenga game. One question asked, “What job would you definitely not like to do?”
6th-grade ELA classes are discussing the difference between a hobby and a job. Then, they will discover which hobbies, interests, and activities make up their foundation by completing the Naviance lesson My Foundation (6.1). Your foundation makes up who you are and what you want to contribute to the world.
