Project Furniture – Help with Pick-ups and Deliveries
Over the years Project Furniture has delivered beds and furniture to hundreds of families in the District. We have a great core group of volunteers who give of their time to pick up donated items and deliver furniture to families in need.
We need to expand our list of volunteers and are looking for help to assist with:
- Picking up donated items from in and around the District using the Operation Wildcat 15 ft. box truck. All donated items are either in the garage or will be outside for pick up.
- Delivering beds/furniture to families in the District. All deliveries are ‘to the door’ as OW no longer goes into homes (for liability reasons).
Days and times of pick-ups and deliveries are flexible and based around the volunteers schedules. If you have a couple of hours to spare each month we can really use the help to continue our mission to help families in need.
If you would like to volunteer or would like more details call/text/email:
-Kaleb Dissinger- t34foru@yahoo.com

Project Gift Box
Thank you very, very much to all the volunteers and community members who supported Project Gift Box! With the wonderful generosity of the community, we were able to provide 162 families with gift cards that totaled 380 cards! Families also received school supplies, warm clothing items, coats, books, and toothbrushes. We truly appreciate all of our community donors and volunteers, especially when supporting families during the holidays. ~Raina and Ann Marie
Project Tannenbaum
Thank you, thank you, thank you to the most amazing team of volunteers! Tannenbaum Distribution Night could never happen without each one of the adult volunteers and the team of student volunteers! Project Tannenbaum provided artificial trees, live tree certificates, ornaments, lights, stockings, tree toppers, tree skirts, wreaths, and so much more to 54 families!
At January's Great Tree Drop Off, Project Tannenbaum collected 11 trees, lights, ornaments and garland. Thank you to all donated items!
Patti Herring will be stepping away from her role as Project Tannenbaum chair after December 2025’s distribution night. She has been co-chair or chair of this project for 15 years and would love to have someone volunteer to shadow her in 2025 and take over the chair position in 2026! Please contact her at familyzeke@verizon.net if you are interested in learning more about this opportunity!
Project Legacy
Sharing some exciting news about Project Legacy's remarkable success this past year. We're thrilled to report that we exceeded our goals, providing holiday support to 17 families within the district, ensuring their wishes and needs were met. This wouldn't have been possible without the generosity and collaboration of so many wonderful people and organizations.
Beyond providing holiday gifts, we were also able to supply each family with at least a dozen fresh eggs, thanks to the incredibly generous sponsorship of Hillandale Farms in Gettysburg. This added layer of support truly made a difference in providing these families with a more complete and wholesome holiday experience.
Our success is a testament to the incredible support of our community. We are deeply grateful for the contributions of over 30 donors, encompassing individuals, businesses, churches, and various organizations. Your partnership is invaluable, and Project Legacy simply wouldn't be able to fulfill its mission without your unwavering generosity.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the school counselors and the Operation Wildcat volunteers for their tireless dedication in identifying the needs of each family and ensuring that every request was carefully considered and met.
