Pevely Elementary Weekly Newsletter
Please come skate with us on Monday evening from 6-8PM at Rock Roll-o-Rena as proceeds go to the Lil' Cat Club PTO! There will be a contest for "best dressed" so be sure to wear your favorite costume!
Also this week, our 4th and 5th graders were invited to attend a special showing of Beetlejuice Jr. at Herculaneum High School! They will be riding the bus to HHS on Tuesday for this special performance.
Starting on Wednesday, we are celebrating Red Ribbon Week! There are theme days for the rest of this week and the start of next week. Please see the theme days in this newsletter. Thank you to our Counseling Department for planning a great Red Ribbon Week for us!
It is an exciting week ahead...we hope to see you skating on Monday!

Red Ribbon Week Spirit Days! Start Wednesday 10/23-Tuesday 10/29
Quarter 1 Positive Bus Referral Day!
- Students who did not receive a bus referral and/or have not had several reminders on the bus this school year will get to participate in fun activities during their Special Area class time!
- If students had a Bus Discipline Referral in Quarter 1, they will work with one of our Special Area teachers to go over bus rules, expectations, and bus safety. We are planning to have a bus on site for them to practice this on the bus as well.
- Students who are parent pick-up and do not ride buses are included in this! All students will attend a field trip at some point and will be on one of our buses. It is important that all students know the rules of the bus and how to be safe.
We will do this every quarter of the school year! Everyone starts over on the first day of the Quarter. Thank you for reminding your students at home about proper bus safety, how to sit on the bus, etc. It is essential that all students are transported to and from school safely and we appreciate your help in talking to your bus riders about the rules! Thank you!
4th and 5th Grade Beetlejuice Jr. Performance
Our 4th and 5th graders have been invited to attend a special performance of Beetlejuice Jr. at Herculaneum High School on October 22! All 4th/5th graders and teachers will be transported by bus to HHS for the performance and brought back to school immediately following.
There is a letter going home (and attached) regarding this trip. If you do not give consent for your student to attend, please contact your child's teacher or Ms. Dunlap so an alternative plan can be made for your student while their class is at HHS. We are excited about this opportunity for our students to see the high school production!
Yearbook Photo Re-Take Day!
If your child recently enrolled, was absent on Picture Day, or you want a photo re-take, please communicate with your child's teacher before re-take day on Friday, October 25. We do not know otherwise which students need their photos re-taken. On re-take day, students only visit the photographer if they are having their photo taken, we do not send the entire class. Announcements will be made for students from each grade level to have their photo taken if needed.
Parent Teacher Conferences- October 30th
Teachers will be sending home information for scheduling a Parent Teacher Conference soon. Conferences will be held on October 30th with appointments available. If you would like to meet with a Special Area Teacher (Art, Music, PLTW, Library, PE) or Title Reading Teacher please contact the teacher directly to schedule a time.
The Book Fair will be open in the Library, so pleas be sure to visit before or after your appointment time!
Volunteers Needed! YMCA Tutoring at Pevely Elementary
We are partnering with the YMCA to implement a new tutoring program. They are asking for 10 volunteers to help students with their reading skills. All supplies and resources for working with students will be supplied as well as training at Pevely Elementary. This is an awesome opportunity for our students and we would love to have volunteers working with them for extra help in reading!
