Open House Tomorrow!
Richey Families,
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Open House event tomorrow, which is a wonderful opportunity for you to visit your child’s classroom, meet their teacher, and see firsthand the learning environment we are cultivating. At this event, we aim to strengthen the partnership between home and school, which is key to your child's success. By attending, you not only show your child that you are invested in their education, but you also gain valuable insights into their daily routines and experiences. This connection fosters a positive and supportive learning community for everyone.
During the Open House, we will also provide an overview of the curriculum your child will be engaging with throughout the year. Understanding the curriculum is essential, as it outlines the key learning goals, skills, and concepts your child will be working on. It will also help you better support their academic growth at home. Your presence at this event is crucial, as it provides an opportunity to ask questions, share any concerns, and ensure that we are working together to create the best possible learning environment for your child. We look forward to seeing you there and building a strong partnership for a successful school year!
Warm regards,
Gregg Johnson
Principal
We will have two sessions for open house. We do this so if you have more than one child in the building you don't have pick a teacher to go see. Session One will start at 6:10pm. It will run around 30 minutes. Session Two will start at 6:50pm. It will also run around 30 minutes.
In between or after your session with the homeroom teachers you can stop in the cafeteria to meet our Unified Arts Staff, Special Education Staff, Reading Specialist, Support Staff, and Multilingual Educators.
Our Nutrition Department will also have samples of our school lunch options for you to try.
This event is for adults only but if you do not have childcare we would rather you come with your children than not come at all.
See you on September 23rd!

Parents of 2nd-5th Graders (iReady Results)
The iReady assessment is an online diagnostic tool used to measure your child’s academic skills in reading and math. It helps teachers identify each student's strengths and areas for growth, allowing them to personalize learning experiences to meet individual needs. The assessment is adaptive, meaning the questions adjust based on your child’s responses, providing an accurate picture of their current ability level. The results from iReady guide teachers in creating targeted instruction, ensuring students receive the right support to succeed in their learning journey.
Below are directions on how to see your students iReady results.
Attendance Awareness Month
September is Attendance Awareness Month, and we want to remind everyone that every school day counts! Regular attendance is key to student success, helping children build strong academic foundations, social connections, and good habits for life. When students attend school consistently, they have more opportunities to engage in learning, develop relationships, and stay on track to meet their goals. Let’s work together to ensure that all students are present, engaged, and ready to learn each day!
Our schedules are packed with instruction from 9:05 AM until 3:45 PM! Every minute counts.

Celebrations
We know that many parents like to celebrate birthdays or other occasions with special treats. We encourage parents to celebrate with nonfood items such as stickers, pencils, and themed erasers, other than food. Any food sent into share with students must be prepacked and contain a commercial ingredient label. If sending in food for the classroom distribution, please contact your child’s teacher at least 3 days in advance. The nurse will need to check the ingredients to ensure that nothing in the food item contains an allergy in that homeroom. If there is a known food allergy in that room and the food contains that ingredient it will not be distributed. To avoid this please send in nonfood items.
