Happy Friday BWE,

Today was a fabulous Friday of celebrations and fun! We started the morning with our Ambassador Breakfast, celebrating our 3rd 9wks student ambassadors for a job well done. We traveled over to Grand Oaks High School for Grizzly Games where our Top Dogs earned 3rd place overall and BWE took first place in the boys and girls 100yd dash, thanks to Jackson Clark and London Mott.

We came back to campus to celebrate our February SAE (Students Achieving Excellence) recipients, rewarding our PK-2nd grade students with free Pepperoni's Pizza coupons and 60-minute free play coupons to Dave & Buster’s for our 3rd and 4th graders. Check out all of the grade level pictures on our Facebook page. It was a great close to the week and send off to Spring Break!

I wish each of you the best Spring Break ever! Enjoy this time with your families, doing things that make your heart smile. I’m hoping to make progress in this puppy potty training adventure and am certainly open to all puppy parent advice from any experienced puppy parents.

STAAR Practice & Testing

Recently, our 3rd and 4th grade students took a STAAR Released Test as a practice opportunity. This assessment helps us understand student progress and guide our instruction—it is not being recorded for a grade. If you have any questions about the skills your child is working on, please feel free to reach out to their teacher. The upcoming STAAR adminstration schedule is included below for your reference. We appreciate your support as we help our students grow!

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Students arriving after 7:55 a.m. are marked tardy. Early check-out ends @ 2:30 p.m.

TRANSPORTATION CHANGES

All transportation changes should be emailed to birnhamwoods@conroeisd.net.

Changes must be received by 2 p.m.

CISD PK-6 Cell Phone & Smart Watch Guidelines

Cell phones and smartwatches may be used respectfully and responsibly before school and after school.
Cell phones and smartwatches should not be used to capture video, audio, or images at school or on the bus.
Cell phones and smartwatches should be set on silent mode and kept in backpacks, lockers, or other designated storage areas and should not be visible during school hours including instructional time, reward time, free time, lunch, and in the hallways.
Use of cell phones and smartwatches may be permitted in extenuating circumstances with permission from a staff member (ex. to notify parent/ guardian of a late bus).

BIRTHDAYS

Birthdays are the best days and we love to celebrate at BWE! We do not however, host birthday parties at school. Parents may send gift bags of inedible items (pencils, bubbles, party favors) for students to share with their class. Edible items may be sent, inedible items are preferred. Due to allergies and dietary restrictions, edible items MUST be store bought with a legible nutrition label.
