NB Friday Update
2023-2024 School Year
2/23/24
Happy Friday!
- See below for more information about the upcoming Scholastic Book Fair (we need more volunteers!) and Carnival Night next week. Students will be able to buy books during their lunch/recess period, as long as we can get enough volunteers. Thanks to those who have volunteered already! (See below if you can volunteer)
- Science Fair paperwork is due next week. See below for details and guidelines.
- Let's keep safety in mind as we use the parking lot. We all know that the NB parking lot holds a limited number of cars and there are a lot of cars coming through, both in the morning and afternoon. If you are dropping off your child at the curb in the morning, please do not get out of your car to let your child out. It causes a safety concern for whoever is getting out on the driver's side, into traffic that is already tight. If your child needs help getting out of the car, please park your car in the lot by the gym. This is so that you don't have to cross through many lanes of traffic to walk them to the door. It also keeps the line of cars flowing, without cars pulling in and backing out into traffic. Thanks to everyone who already follows these safety protocols. It is very important to us that everyone is safe.
- Please note that there is an early dismissal day on 3/5 for teacher professional development. For half-day preschool students (Mrs. Rubino's and Mrs. Monaco's classes), we will be having am preschool that day and pm preschool will be cancelled. This will even out the sessions from the many delayed openings we had back in January.
- Please see below for important information and updates.
- Have a wonderful weekend!
First Grade Literacy Night 2/20/24
On Tuesday, first graders were welcomed back to school for a Lunar New Year Literacy Night.
They made dragon crafts with their parents.
And they learned a dance from a special guest, which they then performed for us! Thanks to Ms. Meyerson for putting together this opportunity!
The Illusion Maker 2/22/24
On Thursday, we enjoyed the Illusion Maker show.
He did magic tricks for us.
And we learned about ways to help the environment.
Ambassador Trip to Cedar Crest
On Thursday, School Ambassadors took a trip to Cedar Crest.
They spoke with residents and colored with them.
The intergenerational trip was a positive experience for all! Thanks to Mrs. Walsh for organizing the trip.
