Get Your Once-In-A-Century Buckle
2025 is a Centennial Celebration for the Gooding County Fair and Rodeo. Join in the celebration by purchasing a limited edition Gooding Pro Rodeo Buckle. These buckles are specially designed and made in the USA by Gist Silversmiths. All buckles are engraved with their limited edition number on the back of the buckle.
The first lot of 50 buckles are currently being sold and under half remain. We will continue releasing buckles in increments of 50 through August 2025. Please note: Buckles purchased online will be sold in the order in which they are received.
All proceeds from buckle sales will benefit Gooding Pro Rodeo Tough Enough to Wear Pink and will be included in the 2025 fundraising campaign. The first 50 buckles have been generously sponsored, allowing 100% of the proceeds to go directly to our fundraising efforts.
Please note: Buckle numbers sold online will be sold in chronological order. Buckles will ship once they arrive in November 2024.

Message from Fire Chief Steven Bishop π
As the weather gets colder and we start to use our furnaces and fireplaces, here are a few tips for safe usage.
Furnace Safety tips:
Check your furnace filter every 30 days and wait no longer than 90 days to clean or replace it.
Clean around your furnace.
Your furnace flame should be blue. If itβs not, schedule an inspection.
If there is soot around your furnace, it could indicate itβs faulty or not ventilated well enough.
Make sure you know how to turn off the gas at the furnace and the main valve, near your gas meter.
Be sure to have working carbon monoxide detectors.
Fireplace or wood stove safety tips:
Have your fireplace and chimney inspected and cleaned every year.
Make sure your fireplace damper is open when in use.
Make sure your fireplace has a glass or metal screen to stop ashes and sparks from going into the room.
Let ashes cool entirely before putting them in a metal container with a lid. Do not keep the container in the house or on a deck.
Keep the doors of your wood stove closed, unless youβre loading it or stoking the fire.
Be sure to have working smoke detectors throughout your home.
Happy Retirement Mike Kelley!
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the retirement of Mike Kelley, our current Ordinance Officer and dog catcher. Mike served the City of Gooding for 9 years, serving days, nights, and even weekends. We are proud of the work he has done in our community and his dedication towards every dog that came into the pound and all of the dogs he gave rides home to. He has made sure that our pound remained a "no-kill shelter". Thank you and we hope you enjoy your retirement Mike!
We are proud to announce that we have hired a new Ordinance Officer, Mark Hulme. He has been working with Mike for a few weeks, learning the ropes. Please welcome Mark when you see him around.
Heating Assistance Program
South Central Community Action will be at the Gooding Senior Center on November 12th and 25th from 9:30 am - 2:00 pm to assist with energy assistance applications.
