- Your fully charged device with Bluebook installed. Your device should be able to hold a charge for 4 hours.
Your device’s power cord.
- A pencil or pen. Scratch paper will be provided—do not bring your own.
An external mouse if you use one.
Taking the Exam
- Once you’re in your classroom on test day, you’ll connect to Wi-Fi, log in to Bluebook, and complete a short check-in process in the app.
- Before the test, your proctor will read some short instructions, collect any prohibited items, and give you a start code. You’ll enter the code into Bluebook and the test will begin.
- Most AP Exams have two sections. On some exams, one or both sections are divided into two parts (Part A and Part B, for example).

- If your submission fails for any reason, you’ll see instructions in the app to complete your submission. Don’t worry! All your answers will be saved to your device during testing.
AP Exam information
Exam Timing and Structure
Each exam has its own unique requirements; however, almost all of the exams have the following things in common.
Most exams are 2–3 hours long.
The first part of the exam usually consists of multiple-choice questions.
- You will choose 1 of 4–5 answer choices for each question.
- Your total exam score on the multiple-choice section is based only on the number of questions answered correctly. You won’t receive or lose points for incorrect answers or unanswered questions.
The second part of the exam usually consists of free-response questions that require you to generate your own responses. Depending on the exam, your responses could be in the form of an essay, a solution to a problem, or a spoken response.
Practice for the AP Exams:
The best way to prepare for an AP Exam is to participate in your AP class.
It also helps to set aside consistent study time, complete all assignments from your teacher, and become familiar with the exam by practicing with exam questions created by AP.
On AP Central, we release the free-response questions for exams that have them. We also post sample student responses and scoring guidelines for past exam questions so you can see why a real exam taker got the score they did.

Math Teacher Named Outstanding Teacher by City of Chandler
Perry math teacher Erin Rupp was recognized by the City of Chandler for her dedication to PHS as a supreme mathematics teacher! Councilmember OD Harris stopped by to surprise Ms. Rupp with a certificate, flowers, and gift bag! We are blessed to have Ms. Rupp as part of our teaching staff! Please read below what a parent had to say about her:
Good afternoon Mr. Harris,
Please accept my letter of support for Mrs. Erin Rupp an Algebra 1 teacher at Perry HS. She has been in the classroom for 11 years and would be an excellent selection.
Mrs. Erin Rupp is an outstanding Algebra 1 teacher who brings clarity and enthusiasm to a subject that many freshmen initially find intimidating. With a calm demeanor and a patient teaching style, she creates a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Her classroom is known for its structured yet engaging lessons, which combine traditional instruction with interactive activities that make algebra concepts more relatable.
What sets Mrs. Erin Rupp apart is her dedication to each student’s success. She stays after school several days a week for extra help sessions, ensuring no Puma falls behind. She frequently uses real-life examples to demonstrate how algebra applies beyond the classroom, helping students see the value in what they are learning.
Beyond the academic support, Mrs. Erin Rupp genuinely connects with her students. She takes time to learn about their interests and uses that knowledge to personalize examples or build rapport. Her positive influence goes beyond math—she teaches responsibility, perseverance, and confidence. Many of her students leave her class not only more competent in algebra 1, but also more self-assured and prepared for the rest of high school.
Thank you for all that you do, I appreciate it.

PIA Print contest winners
MAZING news from Perry Graphic Design! Every year, our incredibly talented students gear up for the prestigious annual PIA Print competition, and this year, they've absolutely knocked it out of the park!
This wasn't just any competition! We're talking about a five-state showdown, with high school and college graphic arts students from Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and Utah all vying for the top spots. The challenge? To create print masterpieces designed and produced between April 2024 and April 2025. The judges were looking for the best of the best in creativity, design layout, typography, content, and overall visual impact – and our students delivered! We carefully selected the absolute finest work from our Perry students and proudly submitted them to the PIA!
The competition was fierce, with a staggering 130 total entries submitted, and 52 entries were crowned winners in Arizona!
But wait, it gets even better! Out of those 52 victories, our very own Perry High School students snagged an ASTOUNDING 15 scholarship awards! And the cherry on top? The phenomenal Lena Dais not only won in her category but also took home the coveted Best of High School award for her Disney Themed Movie Poster! Lena's work earned her a trip for two to Graphics Night 2025 on May 29th at Disneyland in Anaheim! How amazing is that?!
We are bursting with pride for every single student who participated and especially for our incredible winners! Way to go, Perry Graphic Design! You make us proud!

Student Use of Technology-Lightspeed Reminder
As part of our efforts to maintain a safe, secure online experience for students, Chandler Unified School District uses a technology tool known as Lightspeed in grades K-12.
Lightspeed will flag content referencing intentions of violence, drug and alcohol use, sex, self-harm, hate speech, pornography, etc. It will also analyze images to block pornography and obscene visuals from reaching students.
Lightspeed representative review google files throughout the day and night and send alerts to administrators at the school and the district office. School administrators will contact parents/guardians when an alert is received. If a parent/guardian cannot be reached, administrators will contact local law enforcement to request a well-check on students of alerts regarding threats of self-harm.
All school rules apply to the content on a student's Google Drive. Students are encouraged to practice responsible digital citizenship.
Lightspeed Alert is another tool CUSD uses. This tool is an anonymous tip line for students to share concerns about school safety and the well-being of fellow students. Trained professionals evaluate content and send an email regarding non-life-threatening items to school administrators. They will also call school officials in emergency situations and can even contact local law enforcement.
Students may report:
- Bullying
- Planned fights
Students in crisis
- Threats of violence
- Weapons brought to school
- Other urgent situations
CALL: (512) 540-3773

We look forward to continuing to collaborate with families to support and meet our students'® needs and to protect them while in our care.

Reminder-No Food Deliveries
We wanted to remind all parents and students: We do not allow outside food deliveries to campus (ex. Doordash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, parent drop-offs) or any other type of food deliveries to campus for students during the day. Deliveries will be turned away.
Pumas Use One-to-One Technology!
To help parents and students learn more about this initiative, we have created our 1:1 Student Guide website, which you can find at https://1to1.gse.cusd80.com. There is a lot of information on this website, but we feel it is important to the success of this initiative to clearly communicate all of it to our parents and students. We encourage all of you to review this information with your child(ren) so you have a clear understanding of device expectations, maintenance, etc.
Technology Usage
Please remind your student to use their device for educational purposes only. Students found not using their device appropriately risk possible discipline and/ or loss of technology privilege's. It is important the student devices are used properly and for the purpose of education.
Student Password Reset
Pattern: first initial + last initial + birthdate (MMDDYY format)
Example: sophomore Ani Smith whose birthday is October 3, 2007 will have their password reset to as100307
7-12 students will be forced to change their password after it is reset
Students can change their Google password by logging in to their Google account (accounts.google.com) with their reset password on any device, at school or at home
- Username for Google is s+id@gse.cusd80.com – example s123456@gse.cusd80.com
Students can change their Microsoft password by either:
· logging on to a CUSD Windows device with their reset password, or
· logging in to the Microsoft portal (myaccount.microsoft.com) with their reset password on any device at school or at home.
- Username for Microsoft is s+id@s.cusd80.com – example s123456@s.cusd80.com
All 2-12 students must change their Microsoft password after it is reset before accessing Infinite Campus.
Device Protection Plan
As part of the 1:1 technology initiative, a student fee of $25 will be added annually to InTouch to enroll in the Device Protection Plan (DPP). Annual enrollment in the plan will minimize the potential repair and/or replacement fees associated with the device.
This year, the fee will be added to accounts on Monday, August 5. The fee must be paid by the due date (Monday, September 2) in order to be enrolled in the plan (click here for instructions to pay the fee in Infinite Campus). All devices will be considered covered by the Device Protection Plan until September 2. If the fee is not paid by September 2, it is implied that the family is opting out of the annual DPP coverage, and although the fee will be shown as "overdue" in InTouch, there is no additional action required on your part. After September 2, you may enroll in the Device Protection Plan only after an inspection of the device at your school's Tech Center.
Students renewing their annual DPP will have continued coverage as long as the payment is made by Monday, September 2.
Students adding the DPP for the first time will need to have their device inspected and enrollment in the DPP does not begin until the fee payment has been received. There will be no refunds given on DPP purchase if a student leaves CUSD or upon graduation. The fee is not prorated for any reason.
Please visit the web address here for more details on the Device Protection Plan.
