Semester 1 Marks: REMINDER

You can access all semester 1 marks and comments on PowerSchool . Marks will be finalized by February 3rd. (please call the school at 780-372-3800 if you need help accessing your PowerSchool account).
Government diploma results will be available on MyPass on Feb 18.

SNOW ANGELS PROGRAM

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART - help us raise $2500 and pie admin in the face

We are SO excited to be participating in Jump Rope for Heart again this year– an event that will encourage our students to get active, build healthy habits and give back to our community. We have a goal of reaching $2500 this year. If you can help us to reach that goal, we just may pie our Principal and Vice Principal in the face!

Old/Broken hockey sticks kicking around?

Do you have any old/broken hockey sticks kicking around at home? Bashaw School would LOVE to take them off your hands as we plan for our Winter Carnival. Please drop them off at the main office by Feb 20.

BRSD INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM - Seeking Host Families

The BRSD International Program continues to expand, welcoming 11 students from Japan to École Camrose Composite High School and Forestburg School in January.

These Grade 10 students had the opportunity to go into BRSD elementary classrooms. The international students engaged with local students in four themes organized into stations: teaching origami, playing Jenga, practicing with chopsticks and writing their names in Japanese.

This supports the goals of the International Student Program to develop global competencies and understanding of different cultures within our own BRSD students and to create excitement about new experiences.

Feedback from a teacher:

Thank you for organizing the Japanese students' visit to our school. The students loved the four activities the international students prepared and shared with us. The international students interacted and asked questions to our students to get to know them. It was a great way to share Japanese cultural activities with our Canadian students.

Bus Students: Process for when busses are cancelled

When busses are cancelled, all riders are automatically marked as "NO BUSSES" for attendance purposes for the day. Parents do NOT have to call in to notify us that students will not be in attendance.

IF your student comes to school (is driven in) PLEASE have them check in with the office upon arrival so we know that they are PRESENT.
