November 2024 News From The Elementary Office
A MESSAGE FROM THE ELEMENTARY OFFICE
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the fall season unfolds, we are filled with excitement and gratitude for all the hard work happening across our school! Our classrooms are buzzing with enthusiasm as students dive into their studies, building new skills and achieving great milestones every day. We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the families who attended our recent parent-teacher conferences. Your phenomenal turnout highlights the strong partnership we share in supporting each child’s growth and success. As always, we encourage you to reach out with any questions or feedback – together, we can continue to make this an incredible year for our students!
Warm regards,
Mary McCullough, Elementary Principal
NEWS FROM MRS. KING AND THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT
Elementary Christmas Program for grades 1, 2 and 3 will be on Dec. 10th at 7pm in the Hangar
We are doing Polar Express this year and students need to wear their Pajamas for the performance. If you want to do Christmas pajamas that would be great but they can be their regular pajamas too.
If you have gently used AC apparel that no longer fits your students, I will gladly recycle it to an other family in our district! You may send items to the elementary office.
Thanks a ton!
Leslie
DID YOU KNOW...
Reading aloud to children helps develop their vocabulary and reading skills, even before they can read independently. Reading just one book out loud a day can expose children to up to 78,000 words a year. It’s a simple yet impactful way to shape young minds and encourage lifelong learning.
GRADES 3-5 ILEARN CHECKPOINTS
Parents of students in grades 3-5 should have received data reports from the first checkpoint. Please contact the elementary office if you did not receive these reprots. The checkpoints will take place in Fall, Winter, and Spring. Each checkpoint has 20-25 questions and will show how your child is doing in key skills and concepts from the Indiana Academic Standards. This helps guide teaching and supports your child's learning. For more information about the ILEARN checkpoints, click here to watch a 5-minute video overview.
