Patriot's Pointe
Happy Sunday Patriot Families!
Greetings Patriot Families,
Our first week of EOC and IB testing were smooth and successful. This week we will continue with IB testing, our GA Milestones testing for U.S. History and Biology, and we will begin AP testing as well. We are providing all families with a host of 2024 EOC Resources that your scholar can review at home in preparation for the upcoming assessments this week. On time arrival to school is a critical component for a successful testing administration and we are asking for your support with this effort.
Our parent drop off and afternoon pick up will change beginning tomorrow and we will need your support with this initiative. Mr. Reynolds, our parking lot attendant, distributed flyers last week in the car rider line to inform parents of the new pick up and drop off route which will now be the front parking lot of the school. A map of the new route is provided below for your reference.
Congratulations to freshman Lucia Love for earning and Excellent rating in the 2024 West World Language Forum. Her French teacher is Mr. Isham and we are so proud of the work he has done to support our students in their academic pursuits. Last week our Chorus held their Spring Concert and patrons enjoyed a variety of genres of music across time. Congratulations to our senior choir students and to Mrs. Velma Jenkins for an outstanding concert. Mr. White and his film students provided the lights and sound for the show and we want to recognize our students for their engineering talents as well. We held our annual Academic Decision Day celebration last Wednesday and our seniors along with their families had an opportunity to declare their post secondary decisions by signing their names to the college, military appointment, or technical school of their choice. A good time was had by all and we enjoyed seeing all of our senior families support this exciting event.
This week will be another busy week at The Creek! Our SkillsUSA students will engage in national signing day on Tuesday in the Media Center at 4pm. We will have our IB Senior Art Showcase and Senior Academic Honors night on Thursday, May 9th beginning at 6pm in Patriot Hall. Please plan to join us in Albany, GA for the 3A State Track Meet. Our Patriot Track Teams are poised for a top notch performance and we will need your support beginning Thursday, May 9th-11th! Let's finish our year strong!
We are excited to support our students in their academic endeavors while providing them with a Competitive Advantage!

New Parent Parking Procedures
Parents please note the change in our new pick up and drop off locations beginning tomorrow, May 6, 2024. We are making this change to separate parents from student drivers and to ensure that students can safely cross the street to gain access into the building. All students will need to utilize the sidewalk and remain on that path to enter into the cafeteria. We appreciate your support and patience as we make this adjustment. Parents we are asking that you not park your car in any of the parking spaces so that our teachers can park their cars and arrive on time to work.

Friends and Family Sponsorship
We have a rich tradition in athletics here at Sandy Creek with more than 10 State Championships in sports such as football, basketball, track, and volleyball.
Our scoreboard was built in 1991 and we are in need of a new board to match our dynamic and talented athletic teams. The vision at Sandy Creek High School is to provide students a competitive advantage in whatever endeavor they choose after high school. With your assistance we can help the students prepare for those endeavors while branding your business and supporting our community. Please view the information attached about the sponsorship and digital scoreboard.
We would like to recognize our FIRST Family Sponsor, The Harvey Family! The Harvey Family has donated $1,000 to our scoreboard fundraiser and we are hoping you can match or double their contribution soon! Who will be next to accept the challenge????

SCHS hopes that your company would be interested in becoming a premier sponsor for our digital scoreboard program! Parents of Rising 11th grade Students
As your child transitions to the 11th grade, we want to ensure their health and safety remains our top priority. This is a reminder regarding the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) booster dose requirement for students who have turned 16 years old.
According to the Department of Public Health (DPH) guidelines, students are due for one booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4), unless their initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday.
Please note that the DPH will be conducting an audit of 11th-grade students at SCHS on September 6, 2024. To facilitate compliance and ensure your child's participation in school activities is not disrupted, we kindly urge you to take this opportunity to schedule your child's vaccination appointment before September 6, 2024.
Student Parking passes are available all year for $60 and should be displayed in the bottom corner of the driver's side windshield.

Our mission is to help students like yours make a successful transition from high school to higher education.
Doorway to College, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, evolved from a 30-year history of serving college-bound high school students. Doorway to College Foundation is continuing the work of the former ZAPS Learning Company, which was also dedicated to providing quality test prep to students who can't afford hundreds of dollars — or more — to raise their scores.

The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.
- Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
- Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
- After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
