Principal's Message
Good evening Mira Loma Families,
Our sixteenth week of school was highlighted by our Winter Concert! On Wednesday evening of this week, our Mira Loma Band and Choir Programs, performed an amazing concert. It was a wonderful evening of music and it was a well-attended concert, filling nearly the entire small gym. With many students, staff, and parents dressed in holiday themed costumes, it was an enjoyable evening for all. Excellent job by our Band Directors, Mrs. Sonia Takanikos and Mr. John Cargile, and all of our Band and Choir Performers!
On Wednesday of this week after school, School Community Worker, Mrs. Clarissa Alva, organized a Food Distribution near the flagpole. Over 100 boxes of food were distributed to students. Thank you for Mrs. Alva for working with our local food bank to acquire food donations for students and families, and continuing to build strong relationships with our community partners. We appreciate you Mrs. Alva!
On Thursday of this week, our Students for Change group met in the Library during 3rd and 4th period. I would like to sincerely thank our students for sharing their thoughts and genuine passion for Mira Loma High School. I look forward to your partnership throughout the 2024-25 school year. Thank you to our Students For Change group for sharing your voices!
In addition, on Thursday of this week during 4th period, our Student Government students were able to complete there performances during a continuation of the Winter Rally from last Friday. Thank you to all teachers who signed up to bring your classes to the rally, and thank you to Mr. Posner for organizing the continuation of the rally for our performers. A special thank you to all of our student groups who performed!
On Friday of this week, Mira Loma Band, "The B Sharps," entertained students and staff at lunch time on the outdoors stage. Great job to "The B Sharps!"
We encourage families to continue to have discussions with your children about school safety and how to report if they have knowledge of a concern. Recently, our administration has seen an increase in communication from students and families when concerns are noticed, allowing us to intervene and resolve issues before they can escalate. This partnership is essential in keeping our campus safe. Please see the yellow “Safety First” icon below for additional information about how to report a concern. We look forward to continuing our conversations about school safety and growing our partnerships with students and families, in an effort to keep our campus safe.
Our Winter Sports season is upon us with Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Girls Soccer, Boys Soccer all participated in competitive action this week! Boys and Girls Soccer both won exciting matches on Thursday and Friday of this week. Both Boys and Girls Soccer are currently 2-0 in league play. Boys Basketball is off to a fast 7-2 start, with an exciting win over Trinity Christian on Thursday of this week, and Girls Basketball played tough in a narrow loss against Encina High School on Thursday of this week. Great job to all of our Winter Sports coaches and players!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank athletes, coaches, and parents for dedicating your time and energy to representing our school in a positive manner and we look forward to your partnership during the Winter Sports season. Your commitment and participation is much appreciated and valued!
Thank you for your partnership and dedication to Mira Loma High School and I wish you all a safe and wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Kaden Bahner
