Tech Spotlight - double feature!
Patricia Tauber - Thompson Middle School
Patricia Tauber and the 8th-grade history teachers at TMS have stepped into the world of virtual reality! Using Google Expeditions, Mrs. Tauber's students virtually toured the various places they have studied this semester. As students rotated to stations, they used the VR devices to explore and answer questions about each location. What a cool way to experience our world!
susan clarke - meadow view elementary
This week, Mrs. Clarke stepped out of her comfort zone and into the world of Seesaw! Her ESL students used location words (prepositions) to describe objects. Students took pictures of themselves holding up a word card. Then students used the word card and the objects assigned to their group to create the location. Finally, students recorded themselves speaking about the object, using the assigned preposition. Talk about engagement! There wasn't a dull moment throughout the entire lesson.
What's Cool at School
Virtual Circuits
Using BrainPop's free circuit workspace, Mr. Goodman's class at TIS created closed parallel or series circuits. The circuit was required to contain at least one battery, two light bulbs, at least one conductor, one resistor, and multiple wires. Students then took screenshots and posted these in the hallway to show off their work!
Rolling Robots!
Mrs. Coxwell's GRC students at MVES dappled in robotics this week. Students coded Sphero robots to travel in a square. Easy? I think not! Way to code guys!
See a video of these kiddos in action below.
New for you!
Assessments made easy
Mrs. Gremillion at TMS discovered a website that contains a test question bank for creating assessments. Questions are available for all grade levels and subject areas. Check it out HERE.
