Patriot's Pointe
Happy Mother's Day Patriot Families!
Greetings Patriot Families,
I hope everyone is taking some time to enjoy their families and especially all moms today. Last week was national teacher appreciation week and I cannot thank you enough for your support with our teachers! Our PTSO, Ethan's Italian Ice, Waffle House, New Hope Baptist Church, Peachtree City Christian Church, Football Booster Club, StuffedTastic, and our parent community all assisted to make our teachers feel loved and appreciated! I would like to thank Mrs. Hennessy, Ms. Cronin, Mrs. Seals, Ms. Battiste, Ms. Alegria, and Ms. Hughes for assisting with all of the events each day and for organizing such a great week!
We are in the home stretch for standardized testing. Tomorrow, we will test Algebra Concepts and Connections, Part 1 and we will continue with AP and IB testing. Parents please ensure that your student arrives to school on time so that they can take their assessments this week. Additionally, this is the last week before final exams. Please check Infinite Campus and Schoology to ensure that your child is in good academic standing as we close out the school year. Many teachers are continuing to work with our students to ensure they are successful and we appreciate you support and partnership in this effort as well.
Our parking procedures have changed and we appreciate your feedback regarding our recent change. Mr. Reynolds, our parking lot attendant, distributed flyers last week in the car rider line to inform parents of the new pick up and drop off route which will now be the front parking lot of the school. A map of the new route is provided below for your reference. Please be patient with us as we make this change to separate our parents from our student drivers and allow for safe entry into the building for our students.
Congratulations to all of our Senior Honors Night award recipients who were recognized and celebrated last Thursday. We kicked off a new tradition by honoring students who demonstrated outstanding leadership in programs across our school! Thank you to our IB Art students, under the direction of Ms. Stein, for showcasing their art during the IB Art Exhibition that took place to kick off our academic awards night. Thank you to our entire counseling staff who made our honors night possible and to our department chairs for ensuring that our students were highlighted and recognized. Our CTE Department really impressed us this week as our Skills USA students signed to the college of their choice with National signing day and our Healthcare students engaged in a vitals practice lab with our Access students!
Congratulations to our Boys Track team who won another State Championship over the weekend in Albany, GA. Our Girls Track team had an awesome showing as well coming from 29th place to finish 4th overall. We are so proud of our track coaches for their leadership and dedication to our students and the program!
We are excited to support our students in their academic endeavors while providing them with a Competitive Advantage!

Teacher Appreciation Week Recap
Thank you to all who helped make our Teacher Appreciation Week a HUGE SUCCESS!! Our parents came out in full force and cleared out our amazon wish list with gifts for our Teachers! As well as things we needed for the week! StuffTastic hosted a nacho bar, PTSO sponsored a Waffle House breakfast, Dr. Gray owner of Ethan's Italian Ice brought his delicious treats, Pastor Al and his church New Hope Church sponsored Chicken Salad Chick. We had a bagel bar , Peachtree City Church brought donuts and we had a donation from our football boosters and it helped with our hot dog bar! A special shout to our front office staff: Ms. Seals, Ms. Hennessy, Ms. Battiste, Ms. Cronin, and Ms. Alegria, THANK YOU for executing and making sure the week was special and amazing. We appreciate you!
New Parent Drop Off Procedures
Teachers and Staff please note the change in our new pick up and drop off locations beginning tomorrow, May 6, 2024. We are making this change to separate parents from student drivers and to ensure that students can safely cross the street to gain access into the building. All students will need to utilize the sidewalk and remain on that path to enter into the cafeteria. We appreciate your support and patience as we make this adjustment. We have asked that parents not park their cars in any of the parking spaces so that our teachers can park their cars and arrive on time to work.

Friends and Family Sponsorship
We have a rich tradition in athletics here at Sandy Creek with more than 10 State Championships in sports such as football, basketball, track, and volleyball.
Our scoreboard was built in 1991 and we are in need of a new board to match our dynamic and talented athletic teams. The vision at Sandy Creek High School is to provide students a competitive advantage in whatever endeavor they choose after high school. With your assistance we can help the students prepare for those endeavors while branding your business and supporting our community. Please view the information attached about the sponsorship and digital scoreboard.
We would like to recognize our FIRST Family Sponsor, The Harvey Family! The Harvey Family has donated $1,000 to our scoreboard fundraiser and we are hoping you can match or double their contribution soon! Who will be next to accept the challenge????
Corporate Sponsorship
SCHS hopes that your company would be interested in becoming a premier sponsor for our digital scoreboard program! Parents of Rising 11th grade Students
As your child transitions to the 11th grade, we want to ensure their health and safety remains our top priority. This is a reminder regarding the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) booster dose requirement for students who have turned 16 years old.
According to the Department of Public Health (DPH) guidelines, students are due for one booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4), unless their initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday.
Please note that the DPH will be conducting an audit of 11th-grade students at SCHS on September 6, 2024. To facilitate compliance and ensure your child's participation in school activities is not disrupted, we kindly urge you to take this opportunity to schedule your child's vaccination appointment before September 6, 2024.
Student Parking passes are available all year for $60 and should be displayed in the bottom corner of the driver's side windshield.

Our Chemistry students made soap for the upcoming holidays (Mother's Day, Father's Day, Graduation...). They each have essential oils for fragrance and some have coffee grounds for a natural exfoliator. This saponification reaction is a slow process as the soap's pH gets lower.
SkillsUSA National Signing Day #3 is in the history books #proudofthesepatriots
The Essentials of Healthcare students conducted a vitals practice lab in collaboration with our PALS students acting as their patients. It was an amazing experience for both the healthcare students and our Access students who helped us make this lab possible.

The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.
- Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
- Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
- After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
