Principal's Message
Greeting families,
Another successful week has come to an end.
You will receive the first teachers' weekly electronic newsletter by the end of the day Monday. We are postponing the take-home folders one more week as the school copier is not up and running yet. Once the printer is functional, we will send printed information.
As I promise, please follow the link to our community google site. For your convenience, we have included all the information we have shared so far. If we miss anything or you want us to include something else, please let us know, and we will gladly do it. We will update the page as more information becomes available. Please, take a couple of minutes to explore the tabs.
Our district released COVID communication procedures that we will implement this coming week. Please see the "resources you can use" section of the newsletter for more information.
The SBDM and PTO board will receive communication in a separate email regarding our upcoming meeting schedule and location. The purpose of the meeting is to seek advice on how to safely open the campus for tours and the calendar of events for all parents.
Last, I want to remind you again about the daily attendance; students are expected to be present daily unless they are sick.
If you have questions or comments, please do not hesitate and ask. I will send another email during the week if I get updates.
Thanks for choosing us!
Kind Regards,
Roberto Gonzalez

COVID
Updates to COVID-19 Guidelines
The district will continue to follow current best practices provided by the CDC and public health officials to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 and other communicable diseases. Below is a summary of the current guidelines from the CDC.
Quarantine:
Regardless of vaccination status or past infection quarantine is no longer recommended for persons
(students or staff) who were exposed to COVID-19. Students or staff who were exposed to COVID-19
should:
- Monitor for symptoms of COVID (fever, cough, fatigue) daily
- If symptoms develop do not report to school/work. Get tested as soon as possible
- Get tested for COVID 5 days after exposure if no symptoms develop
- The CDC recommends wearing a mask indoors for up to 10 days from the last day of exposure
Isolation:
There is no change in isolation of positive cases. Regardless of vaccination COVID positive should:
Do not report to school or work if positive
Isolate at home for 5 days from the date of your positive test
Additional information:
Following updated guidance from public health officials, all students in a classroom with an individual who tests positive for COVID-19 will receive a district notification. (Letter will be sent home)
If you have questions about the new COVID-19 guidelines, please reach out to our campus nurse nuviazuniga@dallasisd.org
Attendance- **Fill out this agreement
Please, fill out the attached attendance agreement pledge by September 5th, 2022, and send it to biomedical@dallasisd.org or send it with your child to school.

Playground
I still do not have a lead time on the playground equipment. Therefore, we are working on alternatives for the students to enjoy the outdoors until I get a definitive answer.
Posible temporary solutions:
- Closing the parking lot to the public during recess to have students play outside.
- Cleaning the space behind the school so students can play in that open space.
- We have a small area at the back of the school where students could have some physical activity.
Teachers will supervise students at all times.
Please share your thoughts and ideas.
Office hours of operations: Monday- Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
Note: Please remember that we will not let visitors in the building. We are doing this to keep your children as safe as possible, as I shared with you. Also, send a sweater with your children in case they get cold.
