WITH APPRECIATION...
This past week was an opportunity to publicly thank so many of those that make our schools run smoothly on a daily basis. A week ago on Friday, we honored our wonderful Avoca School District 37 PTC Volunteers during an appreciation breakfast at Avoca West. This past Tuesday, we were reminded of those amazing people who make sure our students arrive to school safely and on time - our School Bus Drivers! On Wednesday, our Administrative Professionals received their well-deserved flowers for EVERYTHING they do to keep us all on track.
We are so lucky for each one of you!
Thank you for your tireless dedication to our schools and students!!!

It's a heartfelt drama that is sure to please all ages and audiences. The evening performance on Friday, April 26 starts at 7:30 PM in the Marie Murphy MPR and is free general admission. Doors open at 7:10 PM. Come check out Avoca's incredible talents!
2024 Chicago Scholastic Art and Writing Awards
Under the mentorship and guidance of our teachers Kelly Sabatini and Daira Tramontin, 17 Marie Murphy students were recognized with 22 awards at the 2024 Chicago Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Their works included pieces in painting, drawing and illustration, flash fiction, poetry, and memoir.
One of our students, Audrey Kiley is competing nationally with her flash fiction submission, Patchouli. At the ceremony on April 10, Ms. Tramontin was recognized as one of the few teachers with the TOP middle school regional submissions and WINNERS for Scholastic this year.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! WE ARE SO PROUD OF OUR ARTISTS, WRITERS, AND POETS!
Congratulations to the MM Science Olympiad Team!
On April 20, our Varsity Science Olympiad Team competed against the top 50 teams in the state of Illinois earning medals in 21 out of 23 events with numerous state champions. The Marie Murphy Team came in 2nd place for the State and advanced to the National Tournament that will be held at Michigan State University on May 25, 2024. Thank you to our teachers Jim Gravagna, Joyce Kim, and Darren Persino, as well as our numerous coaches and mentors, which includes many of OUR PARENTS. I would also like to thank all of those who show up to cheer for our students.
