Mission of Mitchell Road Elementary
The mission of Mitchell Road Elementary School is to educate all students in a safe, inclusive learning environment while challenging them to be lifelong learners, prepared for their future as compassionate, respectful, and self-disciplined citizens.
Welcome back!
We truly missed our students while we were out because of the weather! We hope you are all doing well since the storm and we look forward to getting back into our school routines starting tomorrow.
Lunch this Week
Donuts for Dads and Other Male Figures
We are so excited for our first special guest event for the year! Dads and other male figures can join us on Thursday and Friday, October 17-18, to have a little morning treat with our students. The cost is 1 dollar cash per ADULT. Please arrive to the front office to get checked in - you will need your license with you. The event will be from 7:00-7:45am. Visitors CANNOT enter through the back doors. All guests must come through the front office to get signed in and a visitor pass. When you are finished, please say goodbye from the cafeteria doors and send the student on to class. Visitors cannot walk the building during this event. We appreciate your understanding of this. Thursday, October 17 will be for K3, K4, K5, 1st, and 2nd grade students. Friday, October 18 will be for self-contained classes and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students.
SIC Nominations
It is time to vote on our new SIC nominations. Please take a moment to answer this brief Voting Form. Voting will close at 4:00pm on Monday, October 14.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
It is time for our fall parent/teacher conferences. This is an important opportunity for parents to find out how students are doing academically, socially, and emotionally in school. Parents will soon receive sign-up information from your child's teacher to set a conference time. It takes us working together to see our students be the best versions of themselves. We appreciate your attendance in these important meetings!
Garden Volunteers Needed!
Parents, one of the special attributes of Mitchell Road Elementary is our beautiful gardens! We’re excited to offer our students hands-on learning experiences in our school garden but we need your help. Recently we had two organizations help clean up two of our three gardens and we need your support to keep the space ready for our students. To keep this educational space thriving, we’re reaching out for parent volunteers who may have gardening skills or simply an interest in helping out. Whether it’s lending a hand with planting, coming in for an hour each week to weed and help maintain the garden, or donating supplies, we’d love your support. Please let us know if you’re available to assist in any way by completing this Google Form.
