Hope everyone has had a great start to the school year!! We're off and running in the choir program so here is what you need to know for the month of September as we gear up for our first concert on Thursday October 17th.

Please double check that you're receiving emails from our Choir VPs as well as our HHSMA President. Their email addresses are ChoirVP.hhsma@gmail.com & President.hhsma@gmail.com. If you're not receiving emails from us, please double check your spam folder.

We will have our annual spirit wear sale from Tuesday September 3rd thru Friday September 20th. Please note that we have 2 new additions to last year's collection - zip-up sweatshirts that students can wear over costumes before concerts and tote bags.

To start the school year the HHS Choirs will combine together to make one massive choir as they perform Dan Forrest's "Requiem for the Living." This is the third large work that the choir will perform, the first being Gabriel Faure's Requiem back in 2019, & John Rutter's Requiem back in 2022. In order to make this piece work with all choir students, there will be Explorer Period rehearsals. Unless students have been assigned by another teacher to complete/retake a test, students should come to the choir room to practice the Requiem with all choir students. This will let students learn the music more thoroughly and get a chance to meet others outside of their own respective choir.

The mandatory rehearsal that all choir students must attend will be on Wednesday October 16th in the HHS Auditorium from 8:00 AM - 9:15 AM (during the AM late start). This is when our orchestra students will join us for one rehearsal so it is crucial that all students are in attendance.

Below is the rehearsal/performance schedule for the Requiem for the Living. Please make sure these dates are reflected in your calendar.

Mr. Naujoks will be taking pictures of our seniors for their senior banner during Explorer Period on Tuesday September 10th for all of our senior choir members. Students will wear their choir uniform. For those students also in VI, they may choose which outfit to wear. Please take a look at the photo to the right to get an idea of how they will look.

Seniors need to pay $20 either cash or check (made payable to the HHS Photo Club) when they go to Mr. Naujoks' room. Senior banners will be hung in the choir room with the exception of concert nights, where they will be hung in the auditorium. Students may take their senior banner home at the end of the school year.

Thank you to everyone who made our annual Tag Day fundraiser a success! I know it's a lot to have that fundraiser right at the beginning of the year, but it was once again a great success thanks to the amazing students, parents, and community that we have here in Hudson! I do not have a final number from the HHSMA yet, but when I do I will share it with you!

Fall 2024 HHS Concession and Tag Day Sign ups are now available. Both programs are a major source of fundraising for the [orchestra or choir] and our distribution of funds is based on the number of volunteers from each music program. New this year, all of our sign ups within the music programs are linked. When you go to the Fall Volunteer Concession SUG, there will be a "more sign-up groups"

If anyone is a photographer, we're looking for your services. Susan Ross always did an amazing job, but now that she's graduated out of the choir program, we're looking for someone else to take pictures during our choir concerts. I've attached the google drive folder of last year's pictures for reference. It doesn't have to be one person, it could be a collection of people, but if you're interested, please let me know.

If you do choose to help us out, please drop the photos in this shared google drive folder so that we may all view them! Thanks in advance for your help!

Those VI members that need to purchase a uniform for this school year, please make sure you fill out and pay through this Google Form. The HHSMA will purchase the Dress, Jacket, & T-Shirt needed by VI members in order to receive the group price rather than the individual price which is what parents will pay when they fill out the google form below. The rest of the uniform must be purchased by the student/parent. Returning members do not need to purchase another uniform unless last years uniform doesn't fit.
