Kicking Off Kindness: PHS Girls Soccer Team Hosts Thanksgiving Food Drive
The Pennsbury High School Girls Soccer Team showed incredible team spirit this November by organizing a Thanksgiving food drive to support local families in need. Throughout the month, they collected donations from students, faculty, and community members to assemble 15 Thanksgiving meal baskets filled with essential items like canned goods, vegetables, and stuffing.
The team also donated extra items to Manor Elementary’s food pantry, extending their support across the district. This initiative not only reflected their commitment to giving back but also demonstrated the power of teamwork in making a positive impact on the community.
Tis the Season of Giving!
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the B&J Group of Morrisville for their support of our families. Employees collected and dropped off food items and gift cards for Pennsbury's food pantries and holiday meals. Their generous donations will go a long way in supporting members of our community dealing with food insecurity.

Charlie Brown Thanksgiving at Penn Valley
Students from the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades at Penn Valley Elementary School participated in a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Feast in honor of the upcoming holiday. Thanks to the generosity of parents and guardians, many volunteered to donate plates, popcorn, pretzels, jelly beans, skittles, and “toast” (Hawaiian rolls) to allow the students to “feast” in the hallway. Students sat in pretzel style, feasted over their homemade Thanksgiving placemats, wore turkey hats, and read poems to remind everyone of all the awesome reasons to be thankful. Happy Thanksgiving to the Pennsbury community!
A Community of Caring: Thank You, Pennsbury Support Staff!
A heartfelt thank you to the incredible Support Staff of the Pennsbury School District for their generous donations to the Manor Elementary School food pantry! Members of the IT Department, Clerical Team, Paraprofessionals, School Aides, Custodial Staff, Security, Maintenance, and Transportation all came together to support this worthy cause. Your kindness and generosity make a difference in our community, and we are truly grateful for you!

PHS Artists Embrace “Healing Through Color”
Congratulations to Pennsbury High School sophomores Yeva Viniarska and Jaiden Goro for their submissions in the Pennsylvania Art Education Association's (PAEA) Youth Art Month (YAM) Flag Design Contest! These two talented young artists are enrolled in Art 1 at PHS with Mrs. Weber.
This year's flag design contest theme is "Healing Through Color." Students were tasked with designing a flag that not only celebrates the theme but also highlights the unique aspects of Pennsylvania, especially our local area. Not only are Yeva and Jaiden's submissions beautiful in design, but they also bring a unique perspective to the contest, as they are English Language Learners (ELL). An ELL is a student whose first language is not English and who is developing proficiency in English.
"It is very cool that they are participating in the state flag contest, their new home," Mrs. Weber said of Yeva and Jaiden's involvement in the contest.
All submissions will be featured in the YAM online exhibit this spring. Winners will be selected from four categories: elementary, middle, high school, and advocacy. The advocacy winner's design will be turned into a real flag and proudly displayed at the National Art Education Association (NAEA) Conference in the spring!
PAEA and NAEA are committed to promoting visual arts education and empowering students to explore their creativity. Their mission is to advance high-quality art education, support educators, and inspire learners to reach their full potential through the arts.
Best of luck to our student artists, and stay tuned for updates!
The Wondrous World of Worms
Students in Mrs. Gould's class at Pennwood Middle School recently got up close and personal with some wriggly earthworms as part of their science exploration!
During the hands-on lesson, students discovered fascinating facts about these tiny creatures, including how worms, despite not having eyes, can sense and retract from light thanks to their specialized light receptor cells.

Pennsbury Students Participate in KIDS CARE Art Exhibit
67 Pennsbury students in Ms. Lala, Mr. Twersky, Ms. Adair, Ms. Weber, and Ms. Greiner's art classes are participating in the Woodmere Museum, KIDS CARE Exhibit. It runs now until December 15.
Woodmere Art Museum’s annual exhibition, KIDS CARE, is a program in which children from schools across the Philadelphia region create art works as holiday gifts for people homebound with chronic illnesses. When the exhibition closes, artworks are wrapped and delivered by MANNA (the Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance) along with a holiday meal to people battling life-threatening illnesses.
In celebration of the 31st anniversary of the KIDS CARE program, this year’s theme, "My Favorite Place," was vibrantly interpreted by young artists through a variety of mediums to evoke cherished locations and people, and the personal connections to the places we hold dear.
KIDS CARE has touched the hearts of thousands of people in the Philadelphia area, helping to make them feel part of a larger community and one that demonstrates how much “kids care.” Thank you to all the teachers and project leaders who have given their time, guidance, and encouragement to their students.
Bailey the Therapy Dog Inspires Young Readers
Bailey, Fallsington Elementary School’s beloved therapy dog, had a busy week as students enjoyed reading their favorite books to him.
