A message from the principal...
Aloha Marblehead Families,
This has been the most Fintastic start to the school year. I want to officially welcome all the new families to Marblehead. I just hope that you have already felt the love and community that we have here at Marblehead. If you ever need anything or want to volunteer, please let us know!
ARE YOU WONDERING WHAT IT MEANS TO "BE FINTASTIC"? On Tuesday, August 27th, I spoke to all 1st-5th graders about the meaning of Be Fintastic. We talked about the expectations ("The Rules") of Marblehead and what could happen if the expectations are not met. Please take a moment to look at the presentation that the students participated in. If you have any questions, try asking them what it means. Click Here for the Presentation
Please read this newsletter all the way to the end. It is so important that you always know what is going on at your child's school.
Have a Fintastic Day!
Mrs. Goodwyn

Back to School Night and Title I Presentation Information
TEACHER PRESENTATIONS
Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, First, and Second Grades - 5:30-6:10
Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grades - 6:15-6:50
Please join us on Tuesday, September 10th for Back to School Night. This is an evening where parents attend a presentation by their child's teacher. In the presentation, the teacher will discuss the upcoming school year, curriculum, procedures for the class, and any other important information that you need to know to have a successful school year. This is an important night for parents and guardians to attend. Please try to arrange babysitting so that the adult attending is able to pay attention. If you will be needing interpretation, please let us know before September 10 so we may arrange an interpreter for you.
TITLE I PRESENTATION
5:00-5:25 and 5:45-6:10
Mrs. Goodwyn will be presenting the Annual Title I Funding Presentation to all parents and guardians interested in learning more about Title I. Due to Marblehead being designated as a Title I School, we receive $100,000 from the Federal Government. Mrs. Goodwyn will talk about why we receive these funds, what we will use the funds on this school year, and how these funds benefit your child.

THINGS TO DO
HEADPHONES
Send headphones with your child to school for them to use with the Chromebooks. These will be your child's personal set of headphones and not shared with anyone else. Place the headphones in a large Ziplock bag with their name on it to keep them clean and sanitary. We will provide headphones if you cannot provide them, but these may be shared amongst classmates.
*Bluetooth earpods are not acceptable. The over the ear headphones with a cord are best for comfort and durability.
Data Confirmation
Data confirmation must be completed! The Aeries Parent Portal is open Now!
It is EXTREMELY important that you update the contacts and email address on the portal each year. We use this information in case of emergencies. It is also important that you include emergency contacts, besides you, for us to contact in case of emergencies.
The Portal web address is:
https://portal.capousd.org/ParentPortal/LoginParent.aspx?page=default.aspx
Please print and sign the confirmation page and turn it into your child's teacher the first week of school. Please let us know if you are unable to print the page.

OTHER GREAT INFORMATION TO KNOW
DONATIONS
At Marblehead, we provide the basic school supplies for all students. From time to time, the classroom teachers may ask for special items to complete special projects. Or, for items that we cannot purchase ourselves, like Lysol Wipes and Hand Sanitizer. If you are open to donations, please donate Lysol (not Clorox) Wipes or large containers of unscented Hand Sanitizer to your child's teacher or the office. These are always much needed items and would be greatly appreciated.
Food and Nutrition - Free Breakfast and Lunch for ALL
Breakfast and Lunches continue to be free to all Capistrano Unified School District students for the 2024-25 school year. Students will be using pin pads this school year and need to know their 7 digit ID numbers to use as their number. Please help your students learn their ID numbers.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE... complete the Education benefit form linked below. Even though all students receive free lunch, we still need this form completed to continue to be able to receive our Title I funding. Every application counts, even if you think you won't qualify. We are only able to track the percentage of families who apply, not who applies. So we are hoping for 100% completion so we know that every child is able to benefit from these wonderful programs available to them.
