Principal Nolan's Notes
February 12, 2025
Hello, Hampshire Families!
It was wonderful to see so many of you on Saturday night at HSO's Bingo Night. We sure are lucky to have such a supportive community of families here at HES. Thank you, HSO, and thank you to all of you that came to join the fun. Mr. Nolan and my parents enjoyed meeting so many of you and experiencing the support of the Hampshire community.
With Valentine's Day around the corner, students are working to spread kindness in their own classrooms but also throughout the building. They are spending time writing about what things that they love!
Attendance Celebration
We are thrilled that despite a high number of illnesses that have plagued our students, staff, and families, 294 students earned the PAWSOME Attendance Award for the month of January! WOW! Students earning this certificate and attendance sticker missed zero or one day of school for the whole month...and January is a long month! Thank you for your efforts to help our students maximize their learning by coming to school each day. We appreciate you!
i-Ready & Top Banana Award
Mrs. DiMatteo and myself enjoyed having one-on-one i-Ready data chats with all 4th grade students. We loved hearing about students' goals and steps they plan to take in order to reach their goals. We know that all HES students are working incredibly hard! Thank you for continuing to check-in with your child(ren) at home to inquire about their progress. This week, there were so many classes with noteworthy efforts in i-Ready.
Congratulations to this week's classroom winners in the KG-2nd grade division:
- Reading - Mrs. Elliott's 1st grade class

Congratulations to this week's classroom winners in the 3rd-5th grade division:

President Abraham Lincoln visits 2nd grade
In honor of Abraham Lincoln's birthday and Presidents' Day, 2nd grade had a special guest visitor read to the class today. This special guest looks familiar!
Snow is falling! ⛄
HES students are loving the snow! All students will be outside for recess unless the temperature is below 10°F (real feel). Thank you for sending your child(ren) to school with the appropriate winter gear to go outside and enjoy their time. When there is snow on the ground, students need snow pants and boots in order to leave the blacktop area and play in the snow. Please label all items with your child's first and last name as many items tend to get lost in the transition from outside to inside. Thank you!
