Indian Education High School Update

I hope the second semester is off to a great start. In this newsletter you will find upcoming meeting dates, events, and resources for post-secondary planning. I'm looking forward to the spring semester and wish all of our students a great semester; make every day count!

Information on upcoming events and opportunities will be shared. Students will receive a pass during 1st or 2nd period excusing them from class.

IYCD will be held at the University of Central Oklahoma on February 25 from 7:45am-2:45pm. This event is for 11th and 12th grade students to explore college and career opportunities through major/career-related guest speakers, workshops, and a college fair. EPS Indian Education will provide lunch and transportation. To attend IYCD please respond by completing this RSVP Form: https://forms.gle/DvZWvHrTga9x uvf8 by January 31st. Permission slips are due by February 7th.

• Students are encouraged to maintain consistent communication with teachers regarding course work and attendance. Tutoring is available upon request for students in academic need.

• Oklahoma Indian Student Honor Society Nominations will be available January 27 - February 7. Nomination forms will be sent to eligible students with a 3.9+ GPA.

• 2024-2025 ACT Test Dates - test vouchers/fees are limited availability and by request only. Juniors will take a free ACT at their school site April 8/9.

• Juniors: Student & Parent Informational Meeting - April 15th @ BLVD Academy, 6-7:30 PM

• Seniors: Jostens will deliver cap and gown to schools March/April. An email with information will be sent as soon as it's available. Save the Date: May 6th: Senior Come & Go Reception.

• Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, students must complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to graduate from a public high school.* For helpful FAFSA resources click here.
  

• Should tribal citizenship status change, please provide Indian Education updated tribal documentation.
