The Colts Connection
Week of August 12th, 2024
Dr. Isett's Weekly Message
Week of August 26, 2024
We are thrilled to share that our Colts have done an amazing job during the first week of rotating schedules! It’s been wonderful to see our scholars actively engage with their teachers and start building strong foundations in their classrooms. We deeply appreciate the partnership we share with you in supporting our students’ success. We encourage you to keep up the great work by monitoring your student’s progress through Parent Connect and staying in close communication with teachers.
This week, our students will attend a discipline assembly to learn about educational code violations. Our goal is to create a safe and supportive environment for everyone. By teaching students the importance of making informed decisions and empowering them to speak up if they see something concerning, we are working together to maintain a secure and welcoming school community. Additionally, this week we will have our first "Shelter in Place" drill. Students will hear an alarm sound while in class and be given instructions to shelter in place. We’re grateful for your continued support in upholding our school ID and tardy policies—together, we can ensure that every student thrives.
Finally, we are excited to invite you to our Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 28th. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet our administrative team and visit your student’s classrooms. On Wednesday, all students will receive a form in class to write down their classroom numbers and teacher names, making it easy for you to navigate the evening. We can’t wait to connect with you and share our plans for the year ahead!
Thank you for being such an integral part of our Colts community.
Warm regards,
Eva Isett, Ed. D.

RHIS Counselors
Welcome Back!
We had an amazing week with your students!
Mrs. Lloyd and Mrs. B had an opportunity to present an outline of our program, including how to make a referral to see their counselor and the reasons why you may want to see us.
We’d like to remind you to make sure your students have joined the Google Classroom to ensure that they are receiving the most up to date counseling information.

School Safety
See something, say something
At River Heights, we take allegations of bullying and harassment seriously. Please have your student complete a witness statement if they have something to report. If it is an urgent matter, please call the front office at (951) 738-2155.
School Policies
Required: ID Cards Must be Worn
For safety and security purposes, all students are required to wear their school issued ID card on a lanyard. Students who attended orientation were given a lanyard and ID card holder. Thank you parents and guardians for helping us prioritize school safety.
Cell Phones are Off and Away During the School Day
Our teachers are committed to minimizing distractions during the academic school day. Parents and guardians, please note RHIS has an off and away during the school day cell phone policy. Students are NOT permitted to use their phones during class or in the hallways. Thank you for helping us ensure our Colts remain focused during instructional time.
Wireless Headphones are Off and Away During the School Day
Our teachers are committed to minimizing distractions during the academic school day. Parents and guardians, please note RHIS has an off and away during the school day cell phone AND wireless earbud policy. Students are NOT permitted to use their wireless airbuds during class or in the hallways. Thank you for helping us ensure our Colts remain focused during instructional time.
We value punctuality
Students who are late to class are required to get a tardy pass at any of our designated areas. Students with five or more tardies will be assigned a detention. Parents will receive a text message and email when their student is tardy. Please note that five tardies will put your student on the "No-Go" list. Thank you for helping us ensure our Colts don't miss any instructional minutes.
