This past week, Mr. Duffy and SRO Price shared important reminders with our students about responsible technology and social media use, emphasizing the positive culture we aim to create. We encourage you to listen to their message.
Featured Club of the Month: Colorguard Club
Looking for a fun way to learn new skills and be part of a great team? Join the Colorguard Club! No experience is necessary—just bring a water bottle, comfy clothes, and a ready-to-learn attitude. Colorguard flags and equipment are provided.
The club meets weekly from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the high school band room. Open to students in grades 7-12, the club is affiliated with the band but is welcome to all, even if you're not a band member or planning to march. Join us and have fun while building new skills!
Join Study Table
Students can drop in for tutoring on any subject, with no sign-up needed! Study tables are available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:25 to 3:30 p.m. This is a great time to study, finish homework, or makeup tests and quizzes (if arranged with a teacher).
Transportation is available. Please email Ms. Schultz or Mrs. Teuissen if you need bus transportation.

After-School Strength/Conditioning – Open to All!
Coach Ash is hosting and mentoring around 45 students each day after school, Monday through Thursday.
Everyone is welcome to join! Simply head to the weight room immediately after school on any of these days.
National Teacher Appreciation Week – May 5-9, 2025
National Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up from May 5-9, 2025, and the Michigan Department of Education’s Office of Educator Excellence is celebrating teachers throughout the entire month of May!
MDE invites parents to help honor teachers by submitting 15-30 second videos of their students thanking a teacher for their positive impact. You can easily record the video using your cell phone—just follow the instructions on the flyer. Videos, along with parental consent, must be submitted through the Teacher Appreciation Video Project Google Form by Friday, April 16, 2025.
These videos may be featured on the Teacher Appreciation Month webpage, MDE’s YouTube channel, and shared across social media platforms like Facebook (@MIeducator) and X (formerly Twitter) throughout May.
If your child has something special to say about a teacher, follow the steps on MDE’s website to submit your video today!
Dual Enrollment Lunch Meeting
Join us for a Dual Enrollment Lunch Meeting on Thursday, March 13th, during each lunch period. Grab your lunch and bring it to Room 631 to learn more about Dual Enrollment opportunities for the 2025-2026 school year.
West Michigan National College Fair – April 1, 2025
The West Michigan National College Fair will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids. This is a great opportunity for students and parents to connect with college and university representatives to explore higher education options.
Date: Tuesday, April 1, 2025
Location: DeVos Place, Grand Rapids
Sessions:
- Morning: 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.
- Evening: 6 – 8 p.m.
Admission is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance to receive a barcode for easy access to information from participating institutions.
CSPS Perseverance Award – $1,300 Scholarship Opportunity
The CSPS Perseverance Award is a $1,300 scholarship that will be awarded to a Cedar Springs High School senior planning to attend college. This scholarship recognizes a student with grit, determination, and perseverance.
To apply, students must submit an application along with a required essay by May 3.

Cossin Business Women’s Scholarship – Guaranteed for a CSPS Female Student!
A $1,500 renewable scholarship (up to $6,000 total!) is available exclusively for a Cedar Springs High School female student!

Senior Ads in Yearbook
The Cedar Springs High School Yearbook staff is now accepting senior recognition ads for the class of 2025. These ads will be featured in a special section of the 2024-2025 yearbook. Please take this special opportunity to tell your senior how proud you are of his or her achievements!
Senior ads are available for a limited time on a space-available basis. All ad elements and payments must be submitted no later than noon on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Please follow the instructions below as you gather elements for your ad. Please email hsyearbook@csredhawks.org with questions regarding your senior recognition ad.
