The Chamisa Green Team won a New Mexico Solid Waste Innovative Project of the Year award for the Zero Wast Lunch video! The award was given by the NM Solid Waste Assoc. of North America. Way to go Green Team!

Be sure your student is dressed appropriately for the cooler weather!

Do you have any extra outdoor Halloween decorations, i.e. inflatables, signs, spiders, etc.? We would like to decorate for Halloween and would love to borrow any items you may have. Label and bring to the office by October 15. Thank you from the bottom our "telltale hearts".

All monies are due no later than Friday, October 12. Many thanks to our outstanding PTO for organizing the fundraiser and to all families for supporting our biggest fundraiser for the year!

Wednesday, October 10: The most fun to be had on two feet! It’s good for you and good for the

environment! Walk to school as a family, with your friends, or as a neighborhood. If you drive your students to school, drop them off at Granada Drive (last street on right before Chamisa) and walk from there! Be sure to dress for the cool, fall weather!

Thursday, October 11: Buy some fresh pressed apple cider from our 3rd grade students after school from 3:20-3:45. Students will be outside by the 3rd grade classrooms. Quantities are limited!

Thursday, October 18: Day performance will be at 10:15 and evening performance at 6:00.

Monday, October 22: Purple Pinky Day is to help raise polio awareness. Permission slips will be sent home to allow students to get their pinky "painted" for $1.

Wednesday, October 24: If you missed the original picture day, send in the order form with payment (picture cannot be taken without this). If you would like to get a retake, send in the original picture with your student.

Wednesday, October 24 through Friday, October 26: Conferences will begin on Wednesday at 1:00 and end at 3:30.

Conferences will be all day Thursday and Friday, beginning at 8:30 and ending at 3:30. There will be no school for students on Thursday or Friday.

Please be aware that a lot of effort goes into scheduling conferences, i.e. siblings, Special Ed staff, ancillary staff. Please make every effort to attend the date/time allotted, as we cannot guarantee rescheduling.

Wednesday, October 31: Halloween parade and party times TBA. Please remember that students should not dress in gory, bloody costumes or carry weapons.
