February 28, 2025

Dear PV Families,
I can hardly believe the 2024–2025 school year has come to a close. As I reflect on the year, my heart is filled with immense gratitude.
Gratitude for our incredible staff—special education teachers, classroom teachers, preschool teachers and paraeducators, SAILS teachers and paraeducators, specials teachers, multilingual learner teachers, world language teachers, psychologists, speech pathologists, our social worker, office staff, safety officer, instructional coaches, interventionists (Math, Reading, Behavior), curriculum specialists, café staff, custodial staff, and last but certainly not least, our associate principal. Each and every one of you plays a vital role in ensuring PV’s success, and I do not take you for granted. I am deeply thankful for every single one of you.
To our families—our PTO executive board, committee leaders, volunteers, and every parent and guardian who contributed—you have made such a difference. Whether it was organizing the Welcome Back staff luncheon, running the fall and spring book fairs, recruiting and supporting room parents, leading Read-a-thon fundraising, planning staff appreciation celebrations and graduation events for the Class of 2032, volunteering for Math, STEM, or Cultural Night (including our amazing South Windsor HS volunteers), making donations, attending activities, or sending kind words of encouragement to staff throughout the year—thank you. Your partnership is essential to PV’s success.
And to our amazing 861 students—you are the reason we do what we do. Thank you for coming to school each day, filling our building with curiosity, joy, and the sounds of learning and growth. You deserve the very best, and we will always strive to give you just that.
To the Class of 2032: Congratulations on your promotion to middle school! I am certain you will go on to do incredible things as you continue to build on the pillars of our Portrait of a Graduate—resilience, engagement, empowerment, and social consciousness. Always remember to: DREAM. ACHIEVE. INSPIRE.
As we head into summer, my hope for each of you is that you find time to rest, have fun, and continue to learn and grow each day. I’ll miss you all—and I can’t wait to see you in August.
PS. Congratulations on your retirement, Mrs. Carolyn Didden! May you enjoy your retirement with the same strength, passion, and joy that you brought to your years in the classroom. We wish you a retirement as beautiful as the legacy you leave behind.
With a heart full of gratitude and pride,
Esther Boakye-Dattey
