Alumni Newsletter
St Bonaventure's School
Message from Headteacher
Dear alumni,
I hope this newsletter finds you well and that you all have enjoyed a restful summer holiday.
The start of the academic year is always an exciting time in the school calendar. A time of new beginnings for all of us with the opportunity to focus on the coming year with enthusiasm and a renewed sense of vigour and hope. The result days this summer were another time for celebration with pupils achieving highly and progressing onto the next stage of their education.
This term we have welcomed into our community at St Bonaventure's our new years 7 and 12 along with the return of pupils who have made the transition into a new year group. The start of term has been excellent and pupils have made a very positive start.
Thank you for all you do to support St Bonaventure's by working in collaboration with us. Please continue to keep the school in your prayers.
Please keep in touch and your support in inspiring our current pupils is always welcomed. Hope to see you soon.

OVER SUBSCRIBED AGAIN
Following our fantastic set of results, the 6th Form remains popular and over-subscribed with large numbers of students wanting to gain a place; this year there were over 2000 applications for the 175 places available.
This success comes as another significant milestone for the school, following its impressive results in the Post-16 exams last week and helping many students to secure places at top universities. It also reflects the broad, balanced, and holistic education that St Bonaventure's provides, enabling individuals to grow academically, spiritually, and socially with strong pastoral support.

Two of our alumni were involved in the Summer Transfer window.
Divin Mubama has joined Premier League Champions, Manchester City from West Ham United. Chido Obi-Martin has agreed to join Manchester United from Arsenal according to various sources. However, the transfer will be officially completed as soon as the two agree on an acceptable compensatory fee.
Adam Riste Apprenticeship offer

Job Opportunities
St Bonaventure’s School stands out as a beacon of excellence in East London, where every member of staff is valued highly and given the opportunity to develop and grow. At the heart of our ethos lies a commitment to fostering a genuinely supportive and empowering environment for all, regardless of background or faith.
Volunteer with CARITAS
The Caritas Volunteer Service aims to make voluntary service as easy as possible in the Diocese of Brentwood.
We do this by allowing charities, parishes and local outreach projects to make volunteering opportunities available on our website, which people who want to volunteer can then apply for. In addition, we run events to help people get started in volunteering and to support active volunteers. The service is open to members of all faiths and none.
ALUMNI FUND
A big thank you to our regular donors and one-time contributors for their support in helping us raise £5000 for the alumni fund.
Your generosity has helped us to provide essentials such as shoes, Chromebooks, uniforms, and travel assistance for students who moved out of the borough. Additionally, we have been able to offer food and shopping vouchers to those in need.
We deeply appreciate your continued commitment. Thank you for partnering with us to make a positive impact within our community.
FUTURE FIRST - ALUMNI VISITS
We know we have successful alumni in a wide range of fields, and it would be great to show the diversity of careers of our alumni, so please do sign up.
We are also looking to hear from more of our female alumni who are interested in coming in to inspire and work with our 6th form girls.
