Langston's Letters
Monday December 9th- Friday December 13th
A Note from the Principal
Dear Langston Hughes Family,
As we move into the colder months, I want to emphasize the importance of regular school attendance. Consistent attendance is crucial for your child’s academic success and overall well-being. Every day of learning counts, and we are committed to providing a warm and supportive environment for all our students, even on the chilliest days. We will be providing many incentives in December, January, and February for exceptional attendance.
Here are a few tips to help ensure your child is prepared for school during the winter:
Dress in Layers: Make sure your child wears multiple layers of clothing to stay warm.
Plan Ahead: Allow extra time in the morning for travel to school, as winter weather can cause delays.
Stay Informed: Keep an eye on weather forecasts and school communications for any updates or changes.
Additionally, if you have not yet completed your New York Schools Account (NYCSA), we strongly encourage you to do so as soon as possible. The NYCSA provides you with access to important information about your child’s education, including attendance records, grades, and much more. Completing your account ensures you stay connected and informed about your child’s progress.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we can ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed, no matter the season.
Warm regards,
Debra Cunningham Principal I.A
