Principal's Message
Dear MMK Families,
This past week has been filled with remarkable demonstrations of our OWLS spirit and achievements across our school community. I am particularly proud of our secondary students who were recognized at our semester one awards assembly for exemplifying the character trait of willingness. These students, from grades 7-12, have shown what it truly means to embrace our OWLS values - Ownership, Willingness, Leadership, and Success.
Our elementary students also shone brightly at their January awards assembly, with numerous students being recognized for their achievements in math, reading, attendance, and citizenship. Special congratulations to our i-Ready leaders, with 2nd grade excelling in both math and reading.
I'm delighted to share that our basketball program continues to thrive. Our Saturday Basketball City League teams finished their seasons strong, with the MMK Celtics completing an undefeated 5-0 season. Our high school basketball seniors were honored at Senior Night, demonstrating the dedication and perseverance that makes us proud to be OWLS.
The Mini Cheer program was another highlight, showcasing the collaborative spirit between our secondary and elementary students. It was wonderful to see our older students mentoring and teaching our younger OWLS.
Looking ahead, we have several important events coming up, including our District Facility Planning Session on Tuesday and our PTO meeting on February 12th. I encourage all families to participate in our Valentine's Day fundraiser and the World's Finest Chocolate sale to support our school community.
Finally, I want to remind all parents about our commitment to student growth through our GRIT program - focusing on Growth, Resilience, Intensity, and Tenacity. These qualities are essential as we continue "Nurturing Resilience, Inspiring Excellence" throughout this academic year.
Thank you for your continued support of our school community. Go OWLS!

Secondary Tutoring - Are you in grades 7-12 and want tutoring?
Dear MMK Families,
Our secondary tutoring program continues to provide academic support for students in grades 7-12. The program runs Tuesday through Thursday from 3:00 to 4:30 PM, offering students direct assistance from teachers on assignments and assessments.
Students must attend the full session unless prior arrangements for early pickup are confirmed by parents. While this is a valuable opportunity for academic support, families need to arrange transportation at 4:30 PM, as bus service is not available. Please note that tutoring should not be used as a waiting period for after-school events.
For questions about the program, please contact the main office.
