Message from the Principal
Dear Families,
Thank you to all the families who joined our parent-teacher conferences at the end of November. Working together with teachers helps give students the best educational experience! Please keep reaching out, sharing ideas, and staying in touch with your classroom teachers.
Please see information below regarding important upcoming events and resources available in our school and community. We are so excited to welcome Ezmeralda Gonzalez as our new family liaison. She has already reached out to students and families to connect them with resources and other opportunities based on needs. Please do not hesitate to contact her if you need any resources.
I hope you are all able to relax and enjoy your winter break with your students.
Sincerely,
Carmen Brodniak

4th and 5th Grade Snow Man Project
Our 4th and 5th graders recently got creative with a frosty twist! The students designed snowmen inspired by well-known characters, complete with punny names that made us laugh out loud. Think "Snow White" (a snowman with a red bow) or "Frosty Potter" (complete with glasses and a wand!)
But the fun didn’t stop there—these imaginative snowmen became the stars of their own stories. Each student wrote a narrative about their character, describing how they transformed into a snowman and what their snowy adventure was like. The objective was to craft a story with a clear beginning, middle, and end, packed with cool details and lively dialogue to bring the tale to life.
The results were as unique as the snowmen themselves! From magical snowball fights to epic winter quests, the students’ creativity and storytelling skills truly shone. It was a joyful way to combine art, writing, and a touch of winter whimsy while strengthening their narrative structure and voice.
Congratulations!!
6th Grade Band Concert
Our 6th Grade Band is amazing! 30 sixth grade students have been practicing their trombones, trumpets, saxophones, clarinets, and flutes early in the morning before school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They have been building skills, confidence and teamwork while preparing for a huge concert...it was a big success! Over 100 beginning band students joined together to play festive, happy music on the big stage at Glencoe High School on December 12th.
