Caroling π΅π
This week, our talented choir students, led by Mrs. Schroeder and Mr. Jost, spread holiday cheer by singing beautiful carols to staff members. Their performances brought smiles, joy, and the perfect touch of festive spirit to our school.
Thank you to our choir students and directors for sharing their talents and filling our halls with music!
i-Ready
You should have received the letter below as well as your student's scores this week. Please ask your student if they received this information on Tuesday, December 17th. Students will be reviewing their i-Ready results after break.
We are pleased to share your childβs results from the recent i-Ready Diagnostic assessment. This assessment provides valuable insights into your childβs learning strengths and areas where they can grow in both Reading and Mathematics in alignment with the Illinois Learning Standards. Enclosed, you will find a personalized report summarizing your childβs performance.
What is i-Ready?
i-Ready is an online learning program designed to assess students' skills, support personalized learning, and monitor academic growth throughout the school year. The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that identifies your childβs unique learning needs by adjusting the difficulty of questions based on their responses. The goal of this assessment is not to provide a grade but to gather data that will help tailor instruction to meet your child where they are academically.
How to Interpret the Report
The family report includes:
Placement Levels: These indicate whether your child is on, above, or approaching grade-level expectations in key domains like Reading and Mathematics.
Scale Scores: These provide a consistent measure of your childβs growth over time.
Recommendations: Suggestions for how you can support your childβs progress at home.
How Can You Support Your Child?
We encourage you to:
Discuss the report with your child, focusing on their progress and celebrating their successes.
Partner with your childβs teacher to better understand the results and identify resources for additional support.
Encourage your child to engage with i-Ready lessons at home (if recommended by their teacher).
For more tips and resources, visit i-Ready Family Center. (https://i-Ready.com/FamilyCenter)
Next Steps
These results will help guide our instruction as we work to support your childβs growth. We look forward to partnering with you throughout the year to ensure their continued success.
If you have any questions about the report or the i-Ready program, please do not hesitate to contact your studentβs teacher or myself.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership in your childβs education.

Unite U-46 Informational Sessions
Our Unite U-46 plan is moving forward, and weβre excited to gather your input on preliminary attendance boundary recommendations. With new and updated buildings preparing to open, the final step is adjusting attendance boundaries to ensure optimal student placement and support for all learners.
Weβre hosting five community open house sessions, where you can drop in anytime to learn about the boundary recommendations, ask questions and share your feedback.
School District U-46 is organized into five networks, each composed of the elementary and middle schools that feed into one of our five high schools. Each session will focus on a specific network, highlighting the schools within that group and their preliminary attendance boundary recommendations. However, you are welcome to attend any session that works best for your schedule, regardless of the network you are part of. Spanish interpreters will be available at each session.
