ELAC: We DESPARATELY NEED PARENTS as members
Dear Clyde W. Needham Families!
Hello Parents and Guardians!
So far, I have only had 3 parents nominate themselves to serve on our ELAC committee. I am really hoping to get at least 5-10 members for ELAC. Will you please consider helping Clyde W Needham with this?
Would you like to be a member of ELAC? - Please nominate yourself by filling out the ELAC Nomination Form
Our ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) is an important part of our school community. The members of ELAC give suggestions to the school and the School Site Council for how to best serve the needs or our English Learner students. Currently, 68% of our student population are English learner students.
We desperately need parents to participate in ELAC. Last school year, our ELAC meetings were very poorly attended. I am hoping to increase attendance this year to at least 5 members. Of these 5 members, 4 of them MUST be parents of English Learners that attend CW Needham and 1 may be any parent or community member.

SPELLING BEE!!!
We are excited to announce that your child’s/children’s school is having a spelling bee for students grades 4th through 6th. The Spelling Bee is a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their spelling skills and compete in a friendly and encouraging environment. Participants will be tested on their ability to spell a variety of words; the event will include several rounds. The competition aims to foster a love of language and promote academic excellence. The site spelling bees will take place between October 14th and October 23rd. The winner of each school site will go on to the district wide spelling bee (Stockton 11/7 and Lodi 11/8). We encourage you to click on the link below for rules and practice lists.
