SWWC STUDENTS AT WORK!
Welding Students Excel at Regional Competition!
After one of the biggest turnouts for the SWWC Welding department at the SkillsUSA Regional Competition, Mr. Butts, the Welding instructor, is proud to share this year's results.
Malic Magnusson (Manchester) earned second place and Logan Tommelein (Saline) took third in the TIG category. In the SMAW category, Andrew Hoeft (Manchester) took second place and Michael Reder (Saline) earned third. Not stopping there, Kyle Zahn (Saline) took second place in the GMAW category and Lydia Zajchowski (Saline) took home third place in the Overall category.
Congratulations to all of our Regional competitors who will be advancing to the State Competition in April 2025.
Another Certification Earned in the SWWC Computer Integrated Manufacturing Program!
Ryan Friedholm (Saline) is the first student to complete the Haas Automation, Inc. Basic Mill Operator Certification! This certificate showcases his ability to operate a CNC Mill, but Mr. Trout, Ryan's CIM teacher, can confidently say his skills go beyond just operating. Ryan has proven himself time and time again both in setup and programming the mills. Students like Ryan are the future of manufacturing!
You’ve got a good one coming your way Ferris State University!
Culinary Arts Students Participate in SkillsUSA!
Four Saline Culinary Arts students showcased their talents at the recent SkillsUSA competition held at Oakland Community College on Friday. Dakota Ford and Wyatt Church represented the Culinary Arts division, while Abby Schroeder and Ava Stripp competed in the Commercial Baking category. Known for its rigorous standards, the competition provided a platform for these students to demonstrate the skills they’ve developed through many hours of hard work. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and applaud their efforts in representing the SWWC so well.

Erin placed 2nd in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing event, while Sam earned 2nd place in the Professional Selling category. The two will travel to San Francisco, CA in early April to compete at DECA's International Career Development Conference.
