Madison Memo
October 2024
A Message from the Principal
Our school year is off and running! We are excited to watch our students grow in their skills and reach new goals this school year. We have implemented a new Science and Writing curriculum. This will add new life to those subject areas and we are hopeful to see positive engagement.
A few ways that caregivers can support their child’s success.
Read for 20 minutes a day
Practice math facts for 10 minutes
Communicate often with your child’s teacher
Monitor their attendance
This will, without a doubt, impact your child’s success in school.
A few reminders…
Wearing your hood up during the school day is not something we allow.
School begins at 8:10.
Tardies and absences are monitored and truancy fines will be assessed per the district attendance plan.
Parent and School connections are so important. We are hoping to reach out to you more often and shed light on the great things we are doing here at Madison!
Happy Fall,
Mrs. Eichmeier

Please keep sharing and spreading the word to help us raise funds for family fun nights, field trips, classroom enrichment materials, family engagement activities and so much more! Everything we raise will personally benefit your student’s educational and social experience here at Madison.

Rachel Geiger - Special Education Aide
Hello,
My name is Rachel Geiger and I look forward to working with your students. I am a Special Education paraprofessional. Some of my hobbies include reading, having family time, cooking, kayaking and traveling. I have a son who always keeps me on the go.
Looking forward to a great year
Tammy Darling - Special Education Aide
Hello!
I am a 1995 graduate of Sheboygan South High School. I am always exploring creative ways to learn and help with my ability to assist in teaching.
I am married with two beautiful daughters, one of them recently married and the other still in high school living at home. My family is my world and I waste no time at the chance to be with them. I enjoy being outside, spending time at our cabin, going 4 wheeling, and a peaceful cruise on my motorcycle. I have a parrot who simply loves to control "Alexa" causing me to burn multiple meals! I also have a handful of other fur-babies that if they could speak would tell you they are nothing short of spoiled!
A Note from the Library
Hello Madison Families and Friends,
Students have all had time in the library checking out books and learning how to properly care for the books they check out. Students are allowed to check out 2 books at a time. If they do not return their books by the next library time, they will not be able to check out any more. The most I will allow a student to have checked out at a time is 3. This will help with overdue and lost books.
Thank you!
Amber Bohman
Librarian
The Reading Corner
Greetings Kindergarten Families!
One of the most important parts of Kindergarten is building your child’s oral language skills. We believe that if your child can speak in clear, complete sentences with details they will be successful readers and writers in the future! At home, please ask questions and encourage your child to answer in complete sentences. Below is the rubric we use to score your Kindergarteners. Any extra practice you can provide outside of school is greatly appreciated.
Greetings Roots Families!
We hope your children come home with Shared Story books for you to read together. Your child will have practiced reading these in school and we appreciate you continuing to read and practice at home. On busy nights you can even just have your child practice the inside cover of the Shared Story books. The inside cover is a great way to practice decodable words (Green Words) and sight words (Red Words). We teach your children that they can sound out the Green Words.
Greetings Wings Families,
Students who are in our Wings curriculum can read a book of their choice at night. Graphic novels, comic books, magazines, picture books and chapter books are all great choices! An important part of our Wings program is getting students to answer questions in complete sentences using text evidence or background knowledge to justify their thinking. Below is the rubric we use to score your children daily
Thank you all for your continued support and interest in your child’s education,
