Thank you from Mrs. Taggart
Dear Families, Students, and Staff,
I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to all of you. It has been an honor and a privilege to work with such wonderful families, inspiring students, and dedicated colleagues. Each of you has made a lasting impact on my time at Hillsdale and I will always cherish the memories I have experienced here.
To the students, thank you for your hard work, enthusiasm, and the joy you brought to each day. Watching you grow, learn, and succeed has been incredibly rewarding, and I am so proud of all you've achieved. I will miss you tremendously.
To the families, thank you for your unwavering support and collaboration. Your trust and partnership have been invaluable. I appreciate the opportunity to have worked alongside you to help your children thrive.
To my fellow staff members, I am so grateful for the camaraderie, support, and teamwork we've shared. Together, we've built something special, and I will forever value the connections we've made and the positive impact we've had on our community.
While I will miss working with all of you, I am excited for the next chapter and will carry the lessons and experiences from this time with me. I wish you all continued success, happiness, and fulfillment in the future.
Warmest regards,
Mrs. Taggart
Our New School Secretary
Welcome Ms. Espenshade!
My name is Brooke Espenshade and I am so excited to be joining the Hillsdale team! I am a WCASD alum! - I went to Mary C. Howse, Peirce, and Henderson. I graduated from Dickinson College in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Business Management with minors in Economics and Spanish. At Dickinson, I played softball and was heavily involved in the student athlete advisory committee. I also work at Henderson High School as a game worker for the athletic department. I love spending time with my family & friends, going to sports games (go Philly teams!), and watching Netflix in my free time. I am looking forward to working with the entire Hillsdale community!
Renovation Update
Important Construction Updates Starting March 31st
Beginning the week of March 31st, exterior construction will begin at the back of our building to build a new stairwell outside rooms 109 and 309.
This project will impact several areas:
- Updated Cafeteria to Playground Route
- Updated Emergency Evacuation Route:
- Dismissal (Walkers and Pickups): Expect new dismissal procedures.
- Parking Changes: There will be no parking along the tree line by the loading dock and limited parking on the far side of the main lot due to construction trailers.
- Relocations: The PTO shed and maintenance container in the back will be moved to another spot on our campus.
- Dumpster Arrival: A dumpster will be delivered late April or early May.
Additionally, you may notice movement in the fields behind the building as we prepare for the upcoming addition. Trucks, trailers, and equipment will be part of our routine moving forward.
Please note: We will still hold Planting Day on April 11th, and garden access will remain available until the end of the school year.
