Cleaning After Last Week's Outbreak
We wanted to inform you that in response to last week's norovirus outbreak, we have taken proactive measures to ensure the health and safety of our school community. We have secured extra staff for a thorough and extensive deep cleaning of the entire school premises. This comprehensive cleaning process will target all areas of the school, including classrooms, common areas, and facilities, to effectively eliminate any potential traces of the virus and prevent its further spread. The health and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority, and we are committed to providing a clean and safe environment for everyone. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work diligently to maintain a healthy learning environment for all.
Fifth Grade ONLY
California School Parent Survey, 2023-2024
One final nudge. Help us reach our goal of 70% participation. We are currently shy of 50%.
Hello! The Gage teams asks you to complete this online survey to learn more about your opinions about it. This survey is an opportunity to communicate your perceptions about your child’s school. This letter explains the survey and, at the bottom of the page, provides your URL and access instructions. If you have any questions about this survey, contact our counselor, Ms. Vazquez at gvazquez1@sandi.net.
The purpose of this survey is to obtain parent perceptions about the school.
·
Your participation is voluntary. It is also very important. The information you provide will help guide district and school efforts to promote safety, enhance learning supports, and improve student achievement.
- · This is an anonymous survey. It is designed so that no one can be identified from the data. You do not have to respond to any questions that you feel could be used to identify you. Simply skip any such questions.
- · All questions apply to this school only.
- · The results are for the use of your district. The California Department of Education and WestEd will preserve data confidentiality and refer any data requests to the district.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ACCESSING THE SURVEY
If you have more than one child at this school, you will only need to complete one survey for this school. Please fill out just one survey about the school using your oldest child as a reference. After the first page of the survey, you will be able to change the language to one of 18 options. Access the survey using the following URL: https://wested.ugam-apps.com/wested/ts/r1cc
Troubleshooting
- · If you are having trouble taking the survey, check the following:
- · Make sure you are entering the website address correctly.
- · Does the survey welcome page show the correct name of your school?
- · Make sure you have entered the URL (in the URL bar, NOT THE SEARCH BAR).
- · Still having trouble? Contact your survey coordinator. Thank you for taking this important survey!
This month's character train is INTEGRITY.
Integrity is like a guiding light that helps us make the right choices, even when no one is watching. It means being honest, doing what's right, and standing up for what you believe in, even when it's hard. When we act with integrity, we build trust with others and show them that they can rely on us. Integrity also means taking responsibility for our actions and owning up to our mistakes. By practicing integrity every day, we not only earn the respect of others but also feel proud of ourselves. It's an essential quality that helps us grow into responsible, trustworthy, and respected individuals.
ELAC Committee (Final Meeting)

Parent/Student Communication During the School Day
Dear Parents,
We kindly request that during the school day, you refrain from communicating with your children via smart watches. While we understand the convenience and connectivity these devices offer, their usage during school hours can disrupt the learning environment in several ways. Firstly, constant notifications and messages can distract students from focusing on their lessons, leading to decreased academic performance and engagement. Additionally, receiving messages from parents may cause unnecessary anxiety or stress for students, particularly if they are related to non-urgent matters. Therefore, we encourage you to communicate with your child through traditional methods such as phone calls or emails outside of school hours, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in their learning experience during the school day. We appreciate your cooperation in fostering a conducive learning environment for all students.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
As per the Gage Student/Family Handbook:
District Policy states that elementary school students may possess and use cell phones and other electronic signaling devices on school grounds while under the supervision of school district employees before and after school. These devices must be carried on the student’s person, kept out of sight, and turned off during the school day.

It's Fiesta Time!
It's almost Fiesta time! Do you have an item or experience to donate? Each donated item is another fun silent auction opportunity. The more auction items, the more money we can raise! We need the community's help in procuring additional donations to auction at the event. Items that have typically done well at previous auctions:
- Wine Tasting Experiences
- Vacation Rentals
- Legal/Wealth Management Services
- Academic / Tutoring Sessions
- Ticket for a Sporting Event
- Gift Cards of Any Denomination
