Welcome Back!
Dear Maple Run Unified School District Families, Staff, and Community Members,
I hope this message finds you well and you had a restful and rejuvenating summer. As we prepare to embark on the 2024-2025 school year, I want to extend a warm welcome back to our students, families, educators, and staff. I am excited to see our school community again come together, ready to inspire, learn, and grow.
This new academic year brings with it a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to the success of every Maple Run student. Our dedicated teachers and staff have been working tirelessly to prepare for the year ahead, ensuring that our classrooms are places where every child can thrive. Whether you're returning to a familiar environment or joining us for the first time, we are here to support you every step of the way.
Our district's mission remains focused on providing a high-quality education that meets the needs of all our students. We are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every student feels valued and empowered to achieve their full potential. This year, we will continue to build on our strengths, explore new growth opportunities, and address the challenges that come our way with resilience and determination.
We remain committed to the health and well-being of our students and staff, and we will continue to prioritize safety in all aspects of our operations. I encourage you to stay connected with your child's school and our district throughout the year. Communication and collaboration between home and school are vital to student success, and we are here to partner with you in your child's educational journey.
Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our schools. Together, we will make this a year of achievement, growth, and positive memories for all.
I look forward to seeing you in our schools and at our district events throughout the year.
Welcome back to school, and here's to a fantastic year ahead!
Maple Run Celebrations
2024 Recipient of the Superintendent’s Leadership Award Dr. Andrea Brown
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Andrea Brown is the recipient of this year’s Superintendent’s Leadership Award. This honor recognizes a non-administrative employee who exemplifies exceptional performance and upholds our district's commitment to excellence.
Dr. Brown has demonstrated extraordinary dedication and service to the Maple Run Unified School District. Despite the reduction of our school psychologists from three to just one, she has managed an entire team’s workload alone, ensuring that no evaluation deadlines were missed amid a surge in post-COVID testing demands. Her leadership in creating the Evaluation Hub has been crucial in maintaining the high standards and timeliness of our evaluations.
Her commitment extends well beyond the typical workday. Dr. Brown regularly invests her evenings, weekends, and vacations into preparing reports and documents for team meetings. Her influence reaches beyond our district as well; she has led a regional study group in Franklin County, mastering new testing approaches required by recent legislative changes. This group, which met consistently for over a year, focused on learning new software and offering mutual support.
Dr. Brown is a familiar and respected figure among nearly every teacher in the district, and her impact on students is remarkable. This year alone, she has conducted around 80 evaluations, often testing students multiple times throughout their academic careers. Her ability to communicate test results with both clarity and sensitivity during meetings with parents is one of her many strengths.
Though much of Dr. Brown’s work happens behind the scenes, her contributions have made a profound difference in the lives of hundreds of students. We are honored to recognize her tireless efforts with this well-deserved award.
