Tell Me Somethin' Good - Things to Remember
Student will not answer -
Give the student an opportunity at a later time (maybe day). Take note of the student who will not answer and talk with them privately at a later time.
Same student has his/her hand up everyday -
Acknowledge that you value what they have to share but we are going to allow other students a turn today ( suggest allowing students to all share with a neighbor after the last student is called on or writing positive things on notes and turn in to you).
Student responds with a sad answer -
Acknowledge the sad answer and ask them if they have anything good to share. If nothing, let them know you look forward to them sharing again soon. Follow-up with student about sad response in private.
Student responds with inappropriate comment -
Let the student know that the comment is inappropriate and ask if they have anything positive they would like to share (may refer to social contract).

Launch
Tips for Launch
Launch can be a review of the day or something inspirational
Be intentional about your launch
No more than 3-5 minutes
It is important to launch students out the door on a positive note -
Remember the majority of the time your students are the messenger of your story. How do you want it delivered?
