Dear 4-H Families:
We are happy to report that educational 4-H programming (including 4-H club meetings) may begin again as in-person if clubs wish to do so. Note that the Ohio 4-H guidelines for in-person meetings must still be followed. The following is a message from State 4-H Leader, Kirk Bloir, regarding in-person meetings.
After much consideration of the current global COVID pandemic situation, as well as our statewide community needs, local health and safety considerations, and COVID risk-reduction protocols, Ohio State University Extension is adjusting our response to the evolving pandemic. Our new guidance continues to be respectful of local, county, and state COVID infection data and guidance from the Ohio Department of Health, CDC, and OSU health experts. As the spread of COVID-19 has changed over time, we are adding additional considerations to our overall decision-making process. In so doing, we are shifting away from the primary focus on color-coded Ohio Public Health Advisory System in determining the conditions under which in-person programming may be able to take place, or would need to move to be fully virtual. In light of that, we have identified new guidance that will continue to balance health and safety needs with our ability to serve our public. As of today (4/13/2021) and going forward, in-person 4-H educationally-focused programming (including 4-H club meetings) can take place, following all guidance in the Ohio 4-H Planning Guide for In-Person Meetings & Events.
