Math - Mrs. Harris
Welcome 6th grade students! I will be your Math teacher this school year and I am excited to teach you everything you need to know to be successful this year. This week, we will get to know each other and our classroom space. Students will review expectations & how to work effectively in our math classroom. Additonally, students will receive their first homework assignment this week on paper. It will be assigned on Pear Assessment in the future. Homework will not be accepted late unless the student is absent.

ELA - Ms. Lemon
Welcome to Team Bridgetown! I am so excited to work with your student. This week in ELA, we will spend time getting to know one another and how the ELA classroom works. We also will be writing a letter to our future selves that will be returned the last week of 6th grade!
Reminder: Students received the summer reading assignment before leaving 5th grade. All work is due on Friday August 30. Students who have electronic parts of the project should email them to daniella.Lemon@k12.dc.gov

Science - Ms. Banson
Welcome to Team Bridgetown! I am thrilled to be your science teacher this year as we explore earth and space science. This week in science, students will be engaging in scientific exploration in our upcoming Gab Lab Assignment! Students will dive into a captivating problem-solving scenario, due on Tues, Sept 3rd. Additionally, students will learn about classroom expectations and procedures and will be quizzed on Fri Aug 30th.
To gear up for the upcoming school year, ensure you have the following supplies ready: a Three Ring Binder, 5 Tab Dividers, and a Composition/Spiral Notebook labeled with your name, Roll of Paper Towels, Hand Sanitizer, Box of Tissues. Student binders and spiral notebooks will remain in my classroom through the duration of the school year. Supplies are due in class by Tuesday Sept 3rd. I look forward to a wonderful school year!
World Geography & Cultures - Mr. Martini
Welcome to Team Bridgetown! I am excited to get to know our students and families as we explore World Geography and Cultures. In our class, students will become more aware of the world around us and grow as critical thinkers to build informed opinions about global themes.

One additional exciting announcement...in the very near future, I will be welcoming my first child into the world. I will be out on paternity leave for a few weeks in September and a few months later in the Spring semester. During this time, instruction will continue with coverage by a long-term sub who I will introduce to students during the first week of school.
ELA Resource - Ms. White
Greetings 6th graders! Welcome to Team Bridgetown! I am so excited to be your Resource ELA teacher this school year. This week we will learn our Resource ELA space and familiarize ourselves with one another. We will also be writing a letter to our future selves that will be returned during the last week of 6th grade!

Deal Library Corner
I am super excited to begin my 2nd year here at Deal! I look forward to interacting with our students to inspire them with new literature, help them with research, and to explore STEM and making activities. I also look forward to speaking with families at our Community night where I will be giving away free books! I will also have a free book cart a few days next week during dismissal.
