Dear SGE Families,
We've missed you!
The summer days are flying by, and with that, preparations for the new school year are well underway. Although children aren't currently filling the learning spaces, the schoolhouse has been extremely busy with various projects. I admire this team of educators as they are always looking for ways to become stronger and elevate their practice as educators in order to serve you and your children more completely.
In addition, as we draw near to the start of school, here are a few items to keep in mind:
- Remote Learning vs In-Person Learning - Final submissions need to be completed by Sunday evening, July 26th @ 11:59 PM.
- New Family Welcome – This coming Tuesday Evening, July 28th. (5:00 - 6:00 PM) Newly enrolled 1st-4th grade families were invited to visit the campus for an introduction to SGE. If you have questions, please contact the office at (317) 873-8050.
- August 3rd - 6th - Throughout the week, all teachers will return to work, be engaged in professional development, and preparing for remote and in-person instruction.
- Class assignment notification - With the start of school being moved to August 10th, anticipated date for notification is end of July/early August. Families will receive an email from ZCS notifying families of their elementary child's classroom placement for the upcoming school year.
- Supply Lists - Click here to access our 20-21 Supply Lists. Supplies will not be shared among students.
- Open House/Meet and Greet – On Thursday afternoon, August 6th, (3:00-6:30) we will open the doors for all families to meet their child's teacher and visit the classroom. During this time, students can drop off school supplies, say hello to their teacher, and get those last few questions answered. In order to assist with safety and control the number of people visiting at any one time, we will provide a timeline for visits based on family last name.

Meet & Greet - August 6th, 3:00-6:30
Please consider the following when planning to attend the "Meet and Greet":
- Our goal is to keep everyone safe. In order to assist with safety, we will control the number of people visiting at any one time, please adhere to the timeline for visits based on family last name.This will allow us to have less people in classrooms at any one time.
- Consider how many will be visiting with your family. Your immediate family is welcome, and smaller numbers assist us in providing a safe, socially-distanced environment.
- Families should only visit their current teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Please refrain from visiting other classrooms and previous teachers as they focus on meeting their new students and also keep number of guests to a smaller number.
Transportation Notes:
The 2020-2021 school year is quickly approaching. Bus route and bus stop information will be e-mailed to parents at the beginning of August. If you do not receive an e-mail, you can confirm your route information on our district website under the Parent Tab after August 3rd.
