Interim Testing/Block Schedule Days
Dear Norsemen Students and Parents:
The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is the state of California’s academic testing program. The CAASPP will be administered to all 11th graders before and after spring break. To prepare for the CAASPP, students will take Interim or practice exams to measure progress and identify areas for growth:
11th graders will take interim exams in English and science
10th graders will take interim exams in science
The interim tests will be administered on Wednesday, January 22 and Thursday, January 23 during English and science classes using a modified block schedule:
Financial Aid Fridays
Financial Aid Fridays have begun. For a chance to win prizes each Friday, all you need to do is submit your FAFSA or CADAA. Make sure to launch your application through Californiacolleges.edu to be in the raffle. The last chance to submit your applications is March 3! The earlier you submit, the better!
Community College Enrollment Workshops
Seniors, we will be hosting three community college enrollment workshops in the month of February to help you complete your registration! Grossmont/Cuyamaca reps will be on campus in Room 606 to help you with your application, orientation, and advising. You must complete all three steps in order to receive priority registration. You will have the opportunity to attend during your English (2/5 and 2/19) or Gov/Econ (2/12) classes. Please see the flyer for more information and see your counselor with any questions.
Community College Parent Info Nights
Senior families, if your student is interested in attending Grossmont or Cuyamaca College next year, plan to attend a parent information session on January 24th or February 1st. The colleges will be hosting these sessions and can answer any questions you may have. This will also provide information about our upcoming enrollment workshops. See the flyer for specific times and links to join.
Financial Aid Night
Wednesday, February 26 from 5 PM to 7 PM. Students and parents can attend to get one on one support from financial aid pros! Bring 2023 tax forms, social security numbers, as well as a charged chromebook! ALL students are required by state law to fill out a free financial aid application regardless of postsecondary plans.
