Wednesday Note

A Note from the Principal
Greetings, WPA Families,
Being Good Neighbors
We recently had some members of our local neighborhood reach out to the school about concerns impacting their properties and the community surrounding WPA. It has been reported that students being picked up on and around the private property located near Cambridge Drive have been engaging in some of the following behaviors…
- “Loitering in the front yard, often in large groups, which disrupts the peace and privacy of the residents.
- Sitting on and climbing the decorative brick tower on the property, which is not only disrespectful but also potentially hazardous.
- Removing bricks from the structure, causing actual damage to private property.”
Naturally, this does not represent Wasatch Peak Academy students in the best light or help us foster the relationships we want in the neighboring community. If you frequently pick up from this area and feel that your child may be part of the concerns, please take a moment to speak with them about the importance of being a good neighbor, respecting our community, respecting private and community property, and consider making alternative pickup arrangements to prevent this from being a concern in the future.
Thanks for your help in this matter.
Mark Your Calendar
Please take a moment to mark your calendar for these fun events.
Kindergarten Graduation: Wednesday, May 21st, 9:00-10:00 a.m.
6th Grade Graduation: Thursday, May 22nd, 5:00 p.m.
As space is limited, we ask that families limit attendance to two visitors for each student.
Family Survey
It's that time of year again, when we seek out parent feedback through our school survey. This survey helps us identify our strengths, measure things we focused on, celebrate successes, and identify areas to allocate time, focus, and resources for the upcoming year. If you have 10-20 minutes to help give us your feedback we appreciate it.
End Of Year
The last 7 days of school are quite full of celebrations and fun this week and next. Please check below for more details on all of the fun.
We are cleaning out the LOST AND FOUND Closet!!!
Please come and see if you are missing any jackets, lunchboxes or other items.
The closet will be cleaned out next week and donated.
Vaping Education Materials for Parents
We recently received a request for resources for talking with kids about the potential dangers of vaping. Research indicates that parents talking with their kids about these and other topics, like underage drinking, can have a powerful positive effect on their children's choices as they grow and encounter the broader world. We wanted to share two resources with you to help support these discussions at home, from the Tobacco Education Resource Library and the Surgeon General.
