PEEK AT THE WEEK
EARLY LEARNING STAFF NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 16TH-20TH
It's the Final Countdown to Winter Break
Okay TEAM, we CAN DO THIS!!!!!!! Our students can be successful this final week as well. The key to all of us finishing well is our ability to be MINDFUL. We need to be mindful of what we try to pack into our days this coming week. We need to be mindful of our students' needs to keep a steady routine. Have fun, but keep it simple! I speak from personal experience when I was in my own classroom. If you try to get too complex with Holiday happenings, it can backfire and lead to challenging behavior and unnecessary stress for your students and yourself. KISS- Keep it simple sisters! We can have a great last school week of 2019!

Winter Break Shut Down
When the schools are closed for vacation the District enjoys a nice savings in utility expenses. To ensure this happens they dial down the heat to around 55 degrees for the two weeks we are off. If you plan to come in to work any time during break dress accordingly and let me know. I encourage you to NOT come in, but enjoy the long break that you all deserve! Additionally, I want to make sure we stay out of the way for our custodians as they do some extra work during the break.
Before leaving next Friday please remember to follow your usual shut-down procedures including the following:
-Unplug everything (except your computer) that draws electricity.
-Stack student chairs and put them next to your coat hooks for the custodians.
-Make sure your shades are pulled down.
-Send home all boots. snow gear, etc.
-Make sure no food is left in your classroom!!
-Please remove all personal items from the lounge frig. and freezer. It will be deep cleaned over break.Anything left behind will be discarded.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I want to take a moment to wish you all the very Happiest Holiday season. I encourage you to extend yourself grace during the holidays and not reach for perfection. Instead, I hope you will relax and enjoy the people that surround you. Relax, slow down and take time to breathe deep. Be mindful. Do what makes you happy. That's my plan. I look forward to seeing you in the Roaring 20's!
