Superintendent's Message 10-06-23
-From The Desk of the Superintendent-
Dear ALCS families,
It's hard to believe it's October! The end of the first quarter is almost here (Oct. 27). The holiday season is fast approaching. Please take a little time to stop and enjoy the many activities throughout our schools and our community.
Thank you to everyone who came out last week for our Building ALegacy Community Forum. We apologize for the audio during the live stream at the event. For those who missed the presentation, click here for the updated video. To view the PowerPoint presentation, click here.
We invite you to join us for one of our upcoming Q&A sessions (schedule below) with school administrators. These sessions are an opportunity for the public to learn more about our schools, ask questions, or provide feedback. They are scheduled during the day for those community members who have been unable to attend the many evening community forums we have held throughout the past year. If you have any questions regarding our school district or Issue 11, please reach out to me.
Parents, please save the dates below for two important upcoming Parent Information Nights that will take place in our district at 6:30 p.m. in the Commons at ALHS with assistance from our school resource officers, Avon Lake Police Department, the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) office, and the Department of Homeland Security.
Nov. 7: Sextortion
March 12: Internet crimes against children
The time for the Nov. 7 meeting of the Board of Education has been moved to 5 p.m. so we can host the parent night listed above.
Thank you again for your continued support of our schools.
Please reach out with any thoughts, questions and comments. Reminder to follow me on X (Twitter) @ALCSsuper
#ALexcellence to ALite!
Sincerely,
Joelle Magyar

Book vending machine at Erieview
Last week Erieview Elementary School held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the school's new book vending machine. A big "Thank You" to the Erieview PTA for purchasing the machine. The students love selecting new books!
