When students feel a sense of belonging, they are more engaged and ready to learn. Our dedicated staff is eager to work with you in supporting your child's growth. The North Plainfield School District has partnered with EdTomorrow to bring restorative practices into the schools. Restorative practices promote a sense of belonging and prioritize relationship and community building with regard to conflict resolution. For 24-25, teachers will begin implementing the First Five and Classroom Circles to promote this sense of belonging and relationship building amongst students and staff.

As parents, you can strengthen the home-school connection by asking your children to share some of what they experienced with regard to the First Five when they get home from school. If you want to take it a step further, you could sign up for the free daily emails at https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/2dAFJNb and have fun connecting over the content at home!

Nurse Notes from Nurse Joy Nurse Notes from Nurse Joy

Welcome back to school! It is my goal to support your student’s health and academic success throughout this school year. Please reach out if you have any health related questions or concerns. I look forward to working with you and your child(ren) this upcoming school year!

Students with Allergies:

Please submit your child’s EpiPen and allergy action plan as soon as possible if you have not done so yet. If your child will be ordering lunch through Machios, it is important to fill out the Machio’s paperwork so they are aware of your child’s allergies. *Until you receive confirmation that your child is on an allergy menu plan with Machios, please plan to pack lunches from home.

Student’s with Asthma:

Please submit an asthma action plan and medication as soon as possible if you have not done so yet.

Due to the seriousness of food allergies, our classrooms are NUT-FREE environments.

  • There are no restrictions on what children can bring when lunch is consumed in the Community Room.
  • Our classrooms are nut-free environments.
    • This includes lunches on early dismissal days because lunches are consumed in the classrooms.
  • Classroom teachers and parents plan holiday parties at various times throughout the school year. Home-baked goods will not be served. Please check ingredients and make sure they are completely nut free.

Attendance:

Please make every attempt to send your child to school when they are healthy. Please keep your child home and report their absence to the office if they have the following:
